Cool.   Cant wait to see some shots on the Pz II.  its probably my favorite of all Light Tanks.  If I didnt already have one in my collection I'd have done one for this GB.

(And still might)   ;)

Man, the clean up of the running gear on my Semovente is tedious.  There is a prominent raised seam all the way around the leaf spring assemlbies which I'm patiently filing away with a squared needle file.  It's also a bit of a challenge sanding the seam on the rounded roller which is attached at the end of the leaf spring assembly.  I'm hoping to be able to spray the first coat tomorrow.  All in all it's a neat little tank, very different from the bigger tanks in my collection.

So I have the next 3 days off.  I'll be posting photos of my Bulldog this weekend.  It will be a nice break.

espins1,

Your kit looks great, and keep up the good work.

I commented on the PZII on the armor forum, but I'll just repeat my compliments.

The chipped paint scheme is really cool.

Kudos on finishing the build.

Anthony.....

The LAV is really coming along well.  That photoetch set seems to be making all the difference.

I have to admit I used to not like the LAV, but after watching your model coming together so nicely, and watching a Military Channel special on the STRYKER, I must admit I'm seriously considering building one myself.

:)

Looking forward to more pictures

I saw that show on the STRYKER, that is an amazing vehicle!  That has me really interested in making one now!  Cool [8D]

Anyway, your LAV is looking great!

Anthony, your LAV is coming out nicely.  There is more photoetched parts then plastic on your kit and that makes the difference.  Worth the investment.  Can't wait to see that bastard all painted and weathered.

Ok here are some more pics, any and all comments welcome!

EDIT: Got some more painting done, painted the straps and did some weathering. How should I attach the decals? Just use water?? I don't want to have to spray it with future because then the weathering on the lower half with fade away - used pigments. Should I use micro sol or whatever it is?? When I put it on the vehicle will it be shinny? Or dry dull?

EDIT #2: Here is the latest pic...

And some of my workbench for fun. It's not fancy, but it does the trick...

And my little stash...

Anthony.....

Some really cool looking pics there sir.

I am especially liking the dusty tires and lower hull. Nice effect there.

Kinda hard to tell from the pic, but is the dark camo actually black, or a really dark green?

Wondering about the straps however......seem a bit bright...are they going to be weathered more, or is it just the photo thats tricking my eyes.

Also, do they represent canvas or what sort of material?

All in all a great build so far.

I'm having to resist hard buying one for myself..........too many kits in stash already ;)

Thanks,

The base colour is a dark green (Marine Corps green [FS 34052(F)]), the two camo colours are  Dark Drab (FS 24091), and  Aircraft Int. Black (FS37031).  The  straps are not as  bright as in the pic,  I painted them  Testors  OD Green, even with this green so out of wack with the model, it looks really good, and heavyarty also stated that that's what colour they should be. The straps should be a sort of canvas, but heres a pic of some... If you have even seen the truck straps used in  trucks (I drive forklift part time) that's what I think they are, but I could be wrong.

Really nice work Anthony,  the camouflage is excellent.  For the decals, I personally put future only where decals will be applied and then apply micro sol over it.  At the end, I spray a dull coat, simply.

Great build Anthony!  A wash and some drybrushing could have been good to accentuate the lines but overall, it's a nice LAV you have there.  Thumbs Up [tup]

Awesome LAV Anthony!

As I mentioned before the tires and undercarriage look particularly sweet.

What a cool addition to this build.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but how do I add the Light Armour GB icon to my sig? I looked in the FAQ, but it didn't help.

Go into the first post in that thread and copy the link of the picture, then, in your signature, write img between squre brackets then paste the link and then write /img between square brackets.  I cannot include those square brackets with the word img cause it will try to show a picture but here they are alone: []

First, you have to save the badge onto your computer.  Just right click on the badge, then save as, and put it somewhere on your computer that you'll be able to find it.

The next step is to find a photo hosting sight to upload the badge to.  I use photobucket, but there are many other sites out there.  If you want to use photobucket, go to to www.photobucket.com.  If you don't currently have an account on there you'll have to create one, don't worry, the account is free.

Once you have your account set up, you'll need to upload the badge.  On photobucket you you should see a section of the screen for uploading an image.  Click on browse and it will prompt you for the location of your file on your PC.  Navigate until you find the badge and click on the badge, then click open on the browse window.  This will now upload the badge to photobucket.

Once it's been successfully uploaded to photobucket you'll want to copy the image link so you can post that in your signature line.  Copy and paste the line that has the image tags in front of and at the end of the link (it will have IMG in brackets at each end of the link).

Go into your profile on FSM and paste the link where you want it in your signature line.  What that does is display the photo from photobucket anytime anyone views your signature, which will show up in all of your posts.

The reason they do this is so that FSM doesn't have to store all the thousands of images from the badges on their servers, so im my case with over 800 posts, theoretically there would be over 800 copies of the same image file.  As you can see, that would really use up a lot of server disk space.

Also, by hosting it yourself, you're not piggy backing on someone elses free photo hosting account which will count against their allotted bandwidth with the free accocunt.

Laugh [(-D]  Cool [8D]  That doesn't bother me at all.  I look forward to seeing your build.  Are you building the Tamiya 1/35 kit?

I'm just about done with the cleanup on the running gear and hope to spray the basecoat either tonight or tomorrow.  I'll post an update picture once that's done.
