Okay this is the last time I beat this very dead horse.  I totally appologize for being so late but I really ahd full intentions of finishing no matter what.  So I give you Heller's 1:72 Spanish Civil War Legion Condor Bf-109 B1.  Totally oob and the decals worked pretty good for being so old except the rudder.  What you see is black decal strips on a painted white rudder, good enough for me I say!  So have at'er and let me know what you think.

I just can't let it die!  a little hunk of plastic and paint will not defeat me!Wink [;)]

My Bf-109b is 99% complete,  I finally got some time this last week and I now only have the flat coat and canopy to add and I am done,  I'll post pics asap!

Other than the decal problem, looks real good Jay.  Hope you come up with a fix.

Well its hot and 34C here today and I was silly enough to be out working in the yard today for a little while.  whew... thank goodness for central air!

The 109 is looking good Jay, too bad about the decal though and I don't know of any fix for that.   Looks like you might have to paint it. Sad [:(]

Well, time to go watch the Senators lose a hockey game.

Looks nice.  Too bad about the tail decal.  You might try sticking it down with a bit of Future, underneath and on top.  Otherwise you may have to just mask and spray the rudder, which shouldn't be too hard.

As promised, here are some pics of the decals.  As you can see the rudder decal is curling and it seems no amount of setting solution will help.  I may resign myself to masking and painiting.

The decals worked! for the most part. I'll post some pics tomorrow.  I tried Mr.Mark Softer on two decals and it was not very successful, it curled the starboard fuselage roundel decal and rudder decal.  I then tried the micro sol/set and they turned out much better, not perfect but much better.  I had to apply another dowsing of sol/set to the fuselage decal that didn't go on good with the Mr.Mark Softer.  The only thing that is giving me fits now is the rudder decal.  Banged Head [banghead] grrr.. just flatten and stick you stupid piece of...Censored [censored]

just... can't... let it...DIE!

I feel like some mad scientist keeping this thing alive way longer than naturally possible.

Anyway, I am ready for decals!!! the future is on and hopefully sometimein the next few days I can slap them on.  I am going to attempt to use the original decals!! please pray for me!!Blindfold [X-)]

I'm not going to do much weathering to this one so I am actually fairly close to being done but we'll see after the decals.  They look good on the paper but seeing as they are the original decals, that may be decieving.  I did put them in the sun for a while which helped with the yellowing of the film but I think I'll be cutting as much of that off, especially around the fuselage lettering.

Thanks Karl, I'm just about done with the write up, I hope to be able to post it (and my write up on my P-40E) within the next day or two.  They're both pretty much finished, just want to proof them and tweak some wording here and there.  Smile [:)]

One of these days I'll get around to the Cr.32, but I want to work on some other projects for a while.  Plus I need to figure out a way to build up the lip of the lower resin cowling.

Scott, great job on the CA 109, it looks really great.

Looking forward to reading your write up.

Jay, the little 109 looks to be comig along nicely. Certainly doesn't look 1/72.

Dave, Scott, it's the Heller 1:72.  Now that I have my work bench cleared and a space to build again, I can work on it more.

Looking good Jay, that's the Hobbycraft kit right?  I have that in the stash waiting to be built along with a huge pile of other 109s for my big 109 project.  Cool [8D]

What do you think of the kit?

nice build scott, the posable flaps and slats when put next to the Academy one I did earlier in this GB shows the effort is well worth the time invested.

Thanks Jay, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, in spite of a few little glitches.  It was a tough kit to build, but it forced me to learn a lot of modelling skills, and that's a good thing.  The next one will be 10 times better as now I know all the "gotchas" with that kit.

Looking forward to seeing your 109B  Smile [:)]

Well gang, I am happy to report I Am back in the game!  I finally cleaned off the desk and last night worked on my bf-109b a little.  Pics later in the week!

Scott, I don't recall any problem with the landing gear that was out of the ordinary.  It's been a while, but I usually scrape the mounting lugs down with a #10 XActo until the fit is fairly loose.  Then I attach the LG using Quick-Set Epoxy, which gives me time to get everything square before the Epoxy sets up, about 2 minutes.
