Willy,
first of all, I got the gearboxes and reduction as a package.
second, Tamiya only produces about 5 different gearboxes and I have built more than 50 tanks. I know what to fit what.
third, I did not get it directly from you. why should I bother you.
furth, after I heard the noise from gearboxes, I know I even did not want to explore this.
fifth, i only share my personal experience about the reduction kit I got, obviousely not only me have noise problem, so it is not what fit what problem.
After all, this forum is a place to talk about technical side of rc tanks, and share personal experience with rc tank, parts. we do not want to get personal fight here, do not we.
Just drop it, let us talk about tanks. I did not like the reduction kit I got by you. that is my personal experience. I hope you solve the noise problem and improve your email reply quickness to your customer like you did here in the forum. so the people who like your stuff will like it better and the poeple who do not will start like them.

Tom ,
I did not want to start a fight ....
just trying to explore why some people have noise problems ,
that's why I offered you to check it out and may just replace them ,
even thought you did not get them from me ….
I do all this as a hobby , not as a business ….
And Tom , you don’t have to tell me how and when to answer emails or posts ..
As I said , I do this as a hobby ….
I have a very busy live , my job comes first , then the hobby …..
And I do not create any products with the purpose of selling ,
I share my own creations or improvements with my fellow hobbyists …
And why should I drop this ?
This is a forum to share experiences ….
I do not intend or even want to sell anything here …
But I would like to help out the guys saying there are have my gear reductions and having problems with them …
What’s wrong with that ?
And again …
These gear reductions are so simple , there is nothing what needs to be improved ,
It just takes proper installation ..
if there is any noise then it’s only possible from not proper set gear-backlash …
either from the motor-pinion to the spur gear of the gear reduction ,
Or from the output gear from the gear reduction to the spur gear of the Tamiya gearbox …
Since my gear reductions are predrilled for each type gearbox ,
this backlash adjustment should be okay ,
Except if there is something wrong with the Tamiya gearbox itself …
What could be possible ,
since I have encountered that some Tamiya gearboxes are bend ,
therefore it will change the backlash between the gears …..
It’s also possible , since I made several versions of these gear reductions with different output gears from 11 to 18 tooth gears , that you may have ( just as an example ) a gear reduction what had at one time a 12 tooth output gear and someone changed it to a 13 tooth … this will decrease the gear-backlash and may result in higher noise ….
Hope these infos will help the guys having problems ,
Even thought I did not get any reply’s from anybody else about this ,
Even thought I was asking who ever has problems with these gear reductions ,
( no matter if he did get them from me or not ) ,
to contacted me , I am more when happy to help to solve the problem ….
regards
Willy
