I know I know Eric...my Tiger I is all built, just haven't had a chance to get a primer coat on yet. with the wife being 8 1/2 months preganant, I am avoiding the airbrush for the time being. In the meantime I have been working on a secret project that will even make Shermie's mouth drop to the floor. I guarentee it.Cool [8D]

I don't have much to report. I used the friscut cut with the circles cut out to paint the inside of the road wheels (man am I looking forward to an all steel wheel vehicle!!). It worked okay to do it that way. The big problem I had was that the friscut stretched a lot when I was putting it over the wheels. I had to kind of fold it together to make it fit. But it still seemed to work pretty well. I put the wheels on the hull and managed to get most of them on still turning. It may make it easier when it comes time to put the tracks on. (The idlers and sprockets still turn also.) I will probably put a drop of super glue down the back of each wheel to lock it all together when I'm satisfied with the tracks.

I got a set of Karaya Tiger tow cables in yesterday. They look real nice and I've read great things about them. I'll let you know how they turn out.

I bought a set of Tamiya photoetch grilles for the grates on the rear deck. I'm not sure I like them. The Aber, Fine Molds, and Eduard sets all look better to me. I'm just having trouble finding any of them.

I'm still working on the side fenders. The brackets that go under them are not an easy thing. There just isn't a lot of glue surface for them.

Well, that's about it from Utah (Southern Canada!! LOL) I hope you're all doing well and getting lots of fun kits to build.

Thanks, Frosty, but I don't smoke, cigars or anything else. So we'll just have to pass all three along to Shermie!!

Have a great day;

Thanks Clay, my wife is officially on baby watch right now, and the baby can come at anytime now. I am excited and nervous all the same.

As for my Mid Pro Tiger, it is all built, but will not be painted until I set up a better spraying area in my garage. I can not use the airbrush in the house (wifes rules) or at least a while, or until i get my damn spray booth's exhaust set up where I can vent it outside my basement. Since I built this Mid Pro, I have finished my Konigstiger, built a secret project that will make Shermie smile, and a fully detailed Schwimmwagan, with wiring and all. To bad I can't paint any of em. I will try and get pics up of the secret project as well as the schwimmy as soon as I can. I will be moving onto either a Panzer VI F1 or a Brummbar with zim.

I am soooo frustrated with these Aber clamps, you have no idea. I might just wind up gluing the handles on the little nubs molded onto the tools and let it be done! What a nightmare. I just do not have the manual dexterity for these things, I guess. I get to go home a lunch and vacuum the floor for the umpteenth time to try and find the pieces I tweezerpulted this morning (after an hour of not getting a clamp together!)

Oh well, I bring it on myself by choosing to use these update sets!

I just found out that apparently, the hull plate that is between the front fenders normally did not have zimmerit on it. What fun. Now do I leave it, or try and chip if back off? What fun!! Going tonight to get (hopefully) the last parts for this guy.

Jon,

Sorry but all I get are blank, empty, white pages staring back at me (kink of like my artistic inspiration!!). It may be our filter here at work. I'll try it from home and wait the two hours it takes to load it up!

Thanks for trying.

Bill, chiming in very late here, but field applied ZIm, didn't have any rules. Just leave it and save yourself the trouble. Trust me.

I started working on the pe front and back mud guards (Aber). It definately helps (read that as almost mandatory) to anneal the little hinge areas first. I wound up breaking one off the first one and have been trying to scratch something up that will look okay. Fun stuff! Also, the instructions indicate to use .5mm brass rod for the hinge pins. I think the tabs to make the hinges are too short to do that, so I'm using .3mm and that seems to be working better. They are awful fiddly to make, but they sure look nice. I'm doing these as a break from the tool clamps! lol Some break!! Also, I think I'd rather put the tool clamps on after putting these on. I'm sure I'd be tearing the clamps right off otherwise.

mine is done, i think Bill and Moses are still working on theirs. there are also a couple of people that have just disappeared from the forum too.

How about we make a new rule: cant start the next team build, until you finish the last oneā€¦ (jk, just had to throw that one in for BillWink [;)])

Thanks, Eric! Ha, ha, I needed that. Yeah, right!!

lol

(I'm beginning to think my Tiger will never get done. I never get time to work on it. At least I don't have a mass of pe for the Panther. Of course, Zimmerit could be a problem with the pattern they used on the Panthers!!

Dont worry Bill, i have a Ferdi and a tiger 1 in suspended animation because of PE frustration. I think at one point or another, we all experience this. Perhaps you will get motivated now.

By the way, anyone heard from Horus?? Wonder if he ever finished his tiger.

Thanks, Robert. I don't know what I did wrong. I did a straight cut and past of the entire url. Not sure what happened to the rest of it. Thanks again.

Sorry Bill, it took me a while to see you had added some pics. Good to see them, it looks like you are doing a good job. I really like the swirly camo job. Now, we just need to get Horus back to work here.Big Smile [:D]
