My beloved USAF will turn 60 soon, so I'm launching a group build to commemorate the event. Here are the rules:
1. Build period is January 1, 2007 to September 18, 2007, the actual USAF birthdate.
2. Though aircraft are obviously going to be the bulk of the subjects, any model that can be reasonably connected to the Air Force is eligible. Figures, Air Force ground vehicles, missiles, space vehicles that are owned by AF Space Command, NASA vehicles that were crewed by Air Force personnel, all are eligible. Heck, why not build one of the NASCAR cars or trucks that have carried the Air Force sponsorship?
3. Air Force era models only, please. In other words, nothing from prior to 1947.
4. Guard and Reserve subjects are eligible.
5. Use any aftermarket stuff you want.
6. This group build is dedicated to the memory of Captain Derek Argel, USAF, killed in action in Iraq on Memorial Day, 2005. Derek was a combat controller, a husband and the father of a one year old son, a recipient of the Bronze Star and a hero proved in liberating strife. He was 28 years old, and was laid to rest at Arlington.
That's all I can think of. Who's with me? I'll get the list started:

UPDATE: 20 September
After seeing photos of my model, Debbie Argel, Derek's mother, sent me the following. I'm sure it applies to you gentlemen as well:
"I am sorry I have not been up for awhile. Just returned from DC yesterday talking to members of Congress, viewing the beautiful Air Force Memorial, and visiting Arlington. 500 families from Families United For Our Troops and Vets for Freedom, made a statement. It was a wonderful gathering. It is so nice to come home to this beautiful tribute to Derek. God bless and thanks!"
Keep posting your models as you finish them, and be sure to have fun!
