Awesome work on the front office Frank it looks fantastic Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].  How much of the cockpit is kit and how much is AM by the way?

If anybody posts a Spitfire GB I am in for certain.  I have 5 unbuilt Spits of various marks in the stash at the moment including the Eduard Spitfire Mk. 22/24 which I'm dying to build.

Cheers

WOW! Thanks!  Just asking if there is any AM is a huge compliment!  I used the kit decal for the instruments, and added a drop of epoxy for the "glass", the seatbelts are lead foil from a good bottle of scotch Make a Toast [#toast] with home-made wire buckles.  Other than the home-made belts, it's OOB.

As for a Spitfire GB, say the word and I am in! Tongue [:P] Propeller [8-]

Sounds like I need to buy a Spitfire kit, being as I may be the only guy on this entire forum who does not have at least one in their stash. Whistling [:-^]

...if there is a Spitfire GB, there has to be a 'till death do us part' end date....well, maybe not that far out.  I'd be up for one, maybe after this one?

I, too, would be willing to add another build to the "To do" list for a spitfire GB. I have always kind of wanted to get one of those kits (Airfix I think??) that even have a dog figure included; to make a scene with a dog...perfect fun Big Smile [:D]. Anyway, I would join.

Also, thanks for the job info. It has been really interesting to learn what some of us do when not modeling.

Hope all is well.

Well if we are swapping job info and such, I'm an IT Project Manager and I work for a major Health Insurance provider her in Aus.

Also, I know some of us have done this before a few times but here is the least hideous photo I could find of yours truly to give you guys an idea of who you are talking to.

Cheers

Did someone say spitfires?

As for jobs and stuff, i'm in the Australian Army (20 years last sat 14th) doing the fun and exciting jobs that I get landed with. Currently Resource Manager for the unit i'm in.

As for the Barracuda, it is currently waiting a wash so I can put down an undercoat prior to painting with Xtracolour paints. The Firefly is not far off having the wings put on and then painting after filling and sanding of joints.

Unfortunately, there's not one of those to be found up in this neck of the woods, Frank, but mail order always works, so I ordered 2, both Tamiya 1/48 kits (a Mk.Vb and a Mk.I). My wife says those should keep me happy until if & when she decides on that 1/1 version for me! Wink [;)]

Dave, Roy,

Nice to see you!

Mike ,

sorry to hear that you don't have green fingers! Give it another go if you get the chance, its very relaxing and rewarding. As for my son, he has'nt caught the modellling bug just yet, but he does like to wonder into my workshop and look at all the finished builds. When I finish something, I'll ask him if he likes it  and he always says "Its fantastic daddy" Obviously he is my favourite critic!Big Smile [:D]

Oh, my fingers can get green, Darren, but it's usually RAF Interior green or FS34151. Laugh [(-D]

Seriously though, my wife (bless her) is the one with the green thumb. She loves it, and it shows. Anything she plants, grows. She's amazing! We were very lucky to find the house we're living in now complete with a full greenhouse. When she's not inside I always know where to find her....and I happen to love fresh veggies, so her garden runs the gammut! It's got everything! I swear she knows her flora better than I know my modeling! Big Smile [:D]

Now onto the modelling front............

I have been doing some more touch up painting on the Hellcat and I also put the Corsair fuselage together.....what a sweet kit! No filler need at all, simply brilliant.Thumbs Up [tup]

I also butchered the Corsairs elevators into a dropped position. I hope it'll look right when its all done.Blush [:I]

Wow, I love the idea of sharing a picture. It is really nice to have an idea who you are talking to. I have to try to find an acceptable picture of myself - I'm sure you all thought I was an eagle lord, but I'm not...

Darren, I am in the process of doing my Corsair fuselage right now too. In front of the windscreen there is the large circle. In that circle on the seam line is a small rectangle, did you sand around it, sand it off and try to replace it, or just sand through it and not worry about it - looking for what others did. I am inclined to sand away and try to replace, but worry that might not end up looking great...Thanks for advice/thoughts.
