Frank,

I wasn't the one who out bid you.  I love your Corsair!  I like the nice clean look.  I have yet to attempt to weather any of my builds.  I hope to try it on my FAA Corsair, with the help and advice of you guys.

Yes, by all means  Cool [8D] I try to stick to beer (one to two per monthWhistling [:-^]Sad [:(]) but in honor of this occasion and to the friends that I have made in this build, a shot of rum to honor you all. Party [party]Make a Toast [#toast]Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I have read a few reviews on the 190 in 1/24 scale it was very insightful.  The review mentioned that with a lot of work (fit problems and such) it builds into a very nice and detailed aircraft.

Perhaps in the near future we can have a 1/24 Airfix GB?  After our skills have improved of course.

Congrats Roy on the 100th post; I'm sure you'll get to 200 in no time, and then before you know it 1000... :)

A 1/24 airfix build would be fun, but of course almost every build would fun :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Wow, miss one day here and there's another 1 1/2 pages to go through! Shock [:O] Congrats on your 100th post, Roy! You got there a lot quicker than I did! Cheers to you, my friend! Make a Toast [#toast]

...and I'm raising a glass to myself & my wife (for I could never have done this without her), as it's now official...crossed the border into Hyder, Alaska yesterday, then back into BC and got the Visa signed by the border officials thereby making me a certified permanent resident of the country of Canada.....and it feels great! Big Smile [:D] Beautiful scenery up that way, too. Here is one of the many glaciers buried under the 33' of snow they recieved this past winter....

Congrats Mike. That is great news! Great picture too - the one time I visited Alaska, I instantly fell in love; it is so beautiful up there...

Thanks, Leon! The scenery is indeed breathtaking. It was so quiet there, too. As my wife and I stood and looked at this massive iceflow, you could actually hear the ice and the earth cracking as it inches along ever so slowly. A very humbling experience.

...and some good news about the Sea 'Cane....found a vac-canopy in the stash, so I will be able to post pics of the completed model a lot sooner than I thought I would. Painting will be commencing shortly.

Woohoo!  Back from my local IPMS show, three awards!  I got a third place for a 1/35 M-26 Pershing tank "OOB", third place for my 1/48 Spitfire, and a second place for my '109 Trop.  I'm in heaven!  WIth the quality of the models on display, I cannot believe I won anything!  The talent represented today was nothing short of astonishing.  My hat's off to all of them.

In the raffle, I scored a 1/48 Revell Devastator, a 1/32 Hasegawa JU-87D-8, a 1/48 Tamiya Corsair, and a 1/48 Tamiya Bristol Beaufighter.  Think I might build the Beaufighter here for this GB since all of the markings are for a FAA aircraft.

Thanks guys!  I appreciate the pats on the back!  I did take a bunch of pics, but they're gonna take a lil' while to get them all downloaded and listed.  Hopefully, I'll be able to post some tomorrow.

I was looking a lil' closer at my Beaufighter, and I noticed that the decals are for "Coastal Command".  Is that the same as FAA, or is it different?  Sorry for my ignorance on the matter.

...oh, and I found this. Looks to me like they were separate branches.

Thanks Mike.  I probably shouldn't start another one for this GB, as the Spitfire GB is coming up and I already have a bunch of other irons in the fire.

Oh, yeah.  I also bought a 120mm resin figure, "The Daywalker".  Big Smile [:D]
