As I still bear the crown on my shoulder, one of my duties at work would have been to raise the Union Flag in honour of the date. Instead, I was off duty watching the event on TV with my son who was facinated by all the pomp and circumstance. It was a fantastic display and as usual it was ended with a flypast over Buckingham Palace.

Fathers Day tomorrow, but I don't expect any modeling goodies as gifts.  My kids usually give me gifts related to my other passion, Golf.  Sure hope they get me some Golf Balls cause at the rate I'm losing them this year if they don't I'll have to go out & buy some.

Its Fathers day tomorrow in England (17th). I'm hoping to be rewarded with a nice easy day! Hope you all enjoy the weekend!

This really has nothing to do with anything, but I found (well, actually, my wife found the shell) a shell at the beach that resembles WWII German mottle.  Submitted for your approval....

Yes the weekend   Also (at least in America, not sure about other countries) Sunday is Fathers Day So take this time to relax and do what you enjoy most in life.  Modeling should be in there someplace.

Hey fella's

I managed to get a lot done today! I did a display base for my Corsair and it has been dull coated and had some fiddly bits added. I also got the last coat of paint of the canopy too so I am hoping to be able to finish this build this weekend.

I am still working on the F-15C as well and it is coming along nicely. When the Coarsair is done I will turn my attention to my Seafire 47. and start preparing for the Spitfire GB.

Dave-sorry to hear about the break in & theft.  Glad that no one was hurt and the losses were minimal. 

Just got back from vacation (left the internet on Sat. June 9-or 9 June, depending on which continent you are on) and a lot of catching up to do.

Roy, she was a professional violinist with a symphony orchestra for 16+ years so naturally she'll be teachiing music and will also teach social studies.  Yes I'm glad no one was home and that no one got hurt.  Things can always be replaced. 

Dave, getting you wife a camera as a gift would be great.  Make sure it's better than the one you lost  As for teaching, never ever give out your address and home phone to students.  Again I'm glad no one in your house was home when it happened. 

On a side note what will your wife be teaching?

Thanks for your comments guys, I too doubt we'll ever see our stuff again but you never know.  Yes, there is insurance but really other than the camera not much else of "ours" was taken.  Not sure if its worth making a claim and taking a hit on our claims free status.  Unfortunately we also have a foreign exchange student living with us who had a lap top and another camera taken.  We'll have to sort everything out between the insurance and the agency that brought her here. 

Roy, interesting you should mention the student being responsible for your break-in.  My wife is just finishing up her teaching degree (retraining after 16+ years as a musician) and to balance out the bad with the good we also found out today that she for sure has a TOC position (Teacher-on-call) and still has a shot at a full time position as well.  I think we need to buy her a new digital camera to celebrate!   I'll make sure I tell her about your experience and tell her not to mention to her students where we live!
