thanks! Pics and info are on P.261 @ FAWHQ. I'm on leave still, so I will have a spot of kitbashing time to myself at last! 

Work has begun on a FAA Wessex and a USAF Viper.......

I can't wait to get my next Spitfire out though......I have some good one's in the pipeline.

Long time-no see! I've been away on my travels and its nice to see that you fella's are doing fine work here.

I just thought I'd drop in and let you know that the long-awaited 1/48 Special Hobby Spitfore Mark Vc has gone on sale here in the UK.

For a limited run kit it looks good, so I've ordered two of them already!

I've done some filling and sanding, and now I think it's getting ready to paint! I should just figure a good way to mask the cockpit!

Here's some more!

The wings went on well and there was only a minor gap that I fixed with a bit of thin plastic.

Unsharp pic, but I think you can see what I mean anyway! :)

It's the Revell/Hasegawa 1/32 kit! It can be seen a bit up on this page! :)

Here's the latest progress! I've closed the fuselage, without no greater fuss!

And I also taped the wings and did some test fitting!

It's a pretty tight fit, but I think it'll work out fine with some minor adjustments!

Ok, here's the pilot too! Got to stop somewhere and consider him finished!

One thing is for sure, until next time I'll get a lamp with magnifying glass! :)

I'll try to make some straps that goes trough the plate behind the pilot, making it look like he's strapped in the seat. Then I'll start closing the fuselage.

Hi!

I'm sorry I haven't been around for quite some time! I guess part of it have to do with visiting too many forums, starting too many builds, and on top of that starting to work.

Now I'm slowly trying to get back on track again, trying to finish some old builds, and trying to minimize the number of builds I have going on, and the number of GBs I'm participating in.

So here's my latest build! A Revell 32nd scale Spitfire Mk1 that I like to participate with here! Hope that's OK!

Thanks Darson, it is good to be back.  When I get a chance I'll get more pics.  Your Spit is outstanding!  I have a hard time with the office.  Too many little details that my skill level is not up to yet, but getting better.  I look forward to seeing more of your Spitfire and learning more.

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I had any progress to show.  Going to the airshow in Oshkosh last week got me excited to work on my Spitfire again.  Last night, I painted the bottom azure.  I t feels good to be working on it again!

The kit will be finished in a desert scheme and will feature a Vokes filter.

Here's what I've managed so far, it's a Cutting Edge cockpit which is designed to drop in over the existing sidewall detail, but a lot of sanding and dry fitting was still required.

Unfortunately for some reason the clear acetate with the instrument dials did not match up exactly with the resin IP meaning I now have a white hole in the bottom of the IP with no dials on it

I'm currently detail painting the seat and harness so I'll post another update when it's done.

I was a little worried about over-weathering the bottom, but the print has it weathered fairly heavily so I tried to mimick it on the model.  As for the IFF aerials, I marked where they should exit the fuse and drilled a small hole.  After adding some rivet and panel line detail around the hole, I fed a longer-than-needed piece of fishing line through then tied a knot on the inside end.  Then, I tied another knot on the outside and fed it into the fuse to protect it during construction.  While I was working on the kit, it stayed neatly tucked inside.  WHen it was time to mount them, I simply pulled them out, colored them black, then CA'd them to the tailplanes.  In this photo, you can see the knot keeping the line from falling into the fuselage:

I finished my Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.I today, yahoo!  She is done up in the markings of Wing Commander Bob Doe, 234 Squadron during the Battle of Britain.  This aircraft is the center piece in the painting "A Time For Heroes" by Robert Taylor, seen below in my signature.  Last year, my girlfriend bought me this print and since seeing it I have wanted a model in the same markings as the one in the painting.  Painted with Gunze acrylics, markings are a combination of kit roundels, painted squadron codes, and homemade serial numbers.  I left off the red tape gun port covers as the print doesn't show them.  I want to thank those who helped me with this one, namely Darren (Tango1), Aaron (sfcmac), Mark (ModelNerd), Greg (gzt), hope I didn't miss anyone!
