Great idea, I'll jump in on this one.  I have a UM Su-100 in the stash!  I can help out with the badge but It'll have to wait until the weekend.

You might want to put a post about the GB in the armor forum to advertise it.  Just a thought.

This looks like a fun one, so count me in! Thumbs Up [tup] I'll be doing Dragon's T-34/76 (1942).

What's the time frame on this build?

Yeah, Now I have it painted, just needs a little more weathering and that peice is done. Now I got to do Roadwheels and tracks, I hate those esspecially the link-and-length tracks in this kit. Then I'm gonna make some snow to put on it and the few decals and I'll be ready for the next kit. I'd like to do an Assault Gun like SU-85 or SU-100, and a T-34/85.

I'm goin to Destin, Florida for a week though so you have time to catch up.... I'm going to the Pensacola Naval Aviation Musuem and the Eglin AFB Armaments Museum while I'm there.

Saddler made a badge, but if you still want to do one go for it

Sorry for the bad pics, I'm using my cell phone.

Seems my memory isn't what it used to be.  My Su-100 that I thought I had in my stash is actually a Su-122 so please change my build sturm.

Sounds like a fun trip you have planned.  Be sure to take lots of pics to share with the rest of us. Wink [;)]

I purchased another Dragon T-34 yesterday - T-34/76 mod 1941, as I was so impressed by the T-34/85.

Short of the later releases by Revell AG and Trumpeter, these kits have got to be the best on the market.

cheers

Hey everyone thanks for joining the GB. I've been kinda busy for the last few days, sorry. I can't wait to see the T-34/85's, I've always loved that tank. Well I'm in Destin so I can't really work on my KV-1s.

Sturm

I noticed you added the T-34/85 to my build list. Can you please remove it? I have built that one already Smile [:)]

Here is the finished Dragon T-34/85. I just need to remove the track joins with some white glue and paint touch ups.

Cheers and thanks

That's a really nice looking '85 Mike!  Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  Were the tow cables supplied with the kit or are those your own creation?

I broke out my Su 122 on the weekend.  Can't say that I'm much impressed by the UM kit.  soft plastic and vague instructions, no locating pins etc.  Oh well... It's just going to take a little longer than I thought.

Mike, that looks very impressive! Thumbs Up [tup] I'm venturing into unknown territory for me with my first 1/72 armor piece, so I'm not expecting results anywhere near what you've accomplished. I'll say one thing though....these 1/72 Dragon kits are awesome! I liked the look of this T34/76 kit so much I purchased their 1/72 M4A3E8 to do for another GB! Thumbs Up [tup]

The tow cables come supplied with the kit as twisted wire lengths and moulded plastic ends that are attached once the cables are cut to the right length. Naturally the length suggested in the instructions is far too long. They look good but I reckon wire is a little too inflexible at this scale. Nylon would look better perhaps.

I just got a UM Hetzer on eBay. Looks pretty good in the box I must say.

Just got a T-34/76 and I will get the Sherman. Having just finished the 1:72 (no, it's 1:65ish!) Hasegawa M4A3E8, I have a hankering to build a more accurate Sherman.

Got the primer/base coat on my Trumpeter JS-3M on now. Time for green Smile [:)]

Cheers and thanks

The Dragon T34 has 116 pieces (yep, I counted 'em! Wink [;)] ) and I thought that was a lot until I read Cookie Sewell's review of their 1/72 Easy-8......189 parts and no indy links! Each bogie assembly alone is 8 pieces! Shock [:O]

Dave, are those 1/35 or 1/72? I can't wait to receive that 1/72 E8! Ordered it yesterday from a shop in Vancouver and it should be arriving sometime next week. Party [party]

Mike I typically only build 1/72.  I'm very impressed with the one that I have already from what I can see in the box.

189 parts? Crikey!! Sounds like a challenge to be attempted. I am new to 1:72 armour as I am an aircraft modeller. Normally I view armour as targets. However, I am totally enjoying the change and seem to be able to juggle an armour build between those beloved things with wings.

I want to get a PST ISU-122, but they seem to be hard to get locally, more's the pity.

cheers

Looks like we're in the same boat Mike. Probably 90% of my builds have wings, and half of those have 2 of 'em......Big Smile [:D]

<------- ....like that one. Wink [;)]

...and I would never have guessed that you're new to 1/72 armor based on your work. It's awesome! Thumbs Up [tup] Hope mine turns out half as good!
