Hey Aggieman

You can add another neighbor to your list. Put me down for the 1/72 Hasegawa F9F Panther. I plan to do the VF-51 F9F-3 that made the first Navy jet kill in Korea, in July, 1950.  Guess it will be OOB.

My next choice would have been the Albatross, so I look forward to following yours.  I just need to get off my duff and do some building for other GBs I've signed up for.

Looking forward to Sept.  BTW are there any LHS's near you?

Aggieman,

As someone else has also stated, I am a bit buried in group builds right now myself, including a group that I just started, but as a former carrier sailor, I cannot resist a build featuring Grumman products.  Please add me as a participant, and I will do some thinking as to which of my kits I will use for this build.

I've seen that...I really like the markings that Itlaeri is going with for this re-release (Korean War declas). I'll keep my eyes peeled for that one. I usually pick up a kit or two at the local IMPS show in the Fall. Maybe the AMT/Ertl kit will show up.

Grumman has put out some great aircraft over the years. I am sure as we get closer to the start date, you'll have quite a few more participants in this GB.

Italeri is getting ready to release a 1/48 Tigercat.  I'll probably pick that one up since the most recent release I recall in this scale was the AMT/ERTL kit that came out in the mid-90s when I got back into this hobby after several years away.  For some reason I didn't get that kit at the time and now it seems that bidding wars begin in earnest on ebay for that kit.

Well, I've got the Tamiya Wildcat in my stash, but if I can find a real deal on a Bearcat or Tiger Cat, I just may switch my entry...

What's the equivalent of "my eyes are bigger than my stomach" in the modelling world?

Dave, I have you listed as a participant.  Just let us know if you have to drop out.  Welcome aboard!

John, welcome aboard!  I know the what you are saying about the voice.  I have lots of the Grumman aircraft in my stash, and they're all saying BUILD ME!  Right now I'm thinking I'm going to build the Albatross since it's been in my stash for several years and there is a Coast Guard option that looks like it could be a really colorful build.  But the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 F3F is also talking to me pretty loudly, as is the Academy 1/48 Bearcat.  Choices choices choices!

Mmmm, Bear-cat (said in Homer Simpson voice).

The bearcat gets my vote (if this is even open for opinions)...I've heard very nice things about the Academy kit. There are some nice pictures of one over on http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ today of the Hobbycraft kit, which is supposedly the same as the Academy offering.

I tried to look the other way, but it's time I built a Grumman something.  Don't know what yet, maybe the 1/32 Hellcat.  Not sure yet.  Depends on which kit in pile calls the loudest.  You know the voice...build me...Build Me....BUILD ME!!!

Lots of GBs going on at the moment but I have a Hellcat and a Wildcat in the stash and I may be tempted to jump in later in the year if all goes well.

Well, a little slow-going on interest in this GB.  Interesting to see that two of the participants live no more than 20 miles apart, however.

Darn you, Steven! I'm up to my eyeballs in projects, but you've got a great start and finish date on this. Can't....resist....must....join....

Oh, what the heck,  put me down for an F4F-4 Wildcat (1/48 Tamiya) - for now.

Great idea for a GB by the way.

Who is interested in participating in this group build for the air- and spacecraft of the Grumman Aviation Corporation?  Rules will be simple:

1.  Any era that Grumman produced military aircraft or any of the NASA Lunar Modules that Grumman built

2.  Any scale except 1:1

3.  Simple OOB build or add to your build with scratch-built or after-market goodies.  Your choice

4.  Multiple entries welcome

5.  Entries from other group builds (such as the South Pacific GB) are welcome so long as they fit within the rules here

6.  Time frame: September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2008.  Can join at any time

7.  And finally, have fun!
