Wow forgot how fast things go around here!

I'll be joining Jon's party bringing some food and wine from around here Smile [:)]!!

Regarding my recipient's gift I know what to get but I still didn't get it. I'll be going to a hobby shop this week and try to send it next one.

All this talk about food had made me hungry, and almost started to drool :) We don't have turkey for x-mas, but instead we have ham (cooked in coca-cola) and then on with a layer of egg, mustard and bread crumbs it goes into the oven (don't know what that cooking process is called). Anyway it tastes very good. Other than that we have what is usually found on a Swedish smorgasbord/smörgåsbord.

That sounds really, really good..... I may have to try that!

Please do, cause it's really good! I've found the original recipe in one of Nigella Lawsons books Smile [:)] to be served with corn pudding (not sure about that word).

Wow, I feel like I'm lagging behind already !  Life's been busy - but I'm planning on getting out to the shop sometime this week.  Don't have alot of clues to work with - so it looks like the Sant-ee will get something that I like.

Whats all this.........I go away for a day and the next thing I know we are all getting together at Jon's for the holidays with all the trimmings, and Drew is at the front door to greet everyone and probably taking all our kits. Deep fried turkey sounds good to me, count me in.

I finally got my Santa-ee's gift the other day!Thumbs Up [tup] It was kinda hard at first, looking for something I knew I couldn't keep for myself. Not something I would normally get for myself, but the more I look at the box, the more I wish I would have gotten one for me.Big Smile [:D] That's what I love about Christmas giving......the hunt! I must have picked up every kit in my two LHS's at least twice!Big Smile [:D] Every time I thought I had made a decision, I'd think "what about that kit down the aisle?", and the whole process would start anew. I think I may have been debating out loud with myself over which kit to buy because the shop owner started looking at me kinda funny towards the end! (kinda like the the way the bridge keeper looks at George and Clarence when Clarence says he's an angelSmile [:)]<------note the clever reference to a movie that takes place on Christmas Eve!Big Smile [:D])

Anyway.....I'll be getting out the package this coming week......so no early peeking!!!Big Smile [:D]

Oh, Dave!! Yee of sheltered living!!! You ain't had no turkey until you've had deep fried turkey!!! Both my sons and daughter have big old deep fryers and we ain't had a baked turkey in about 6 or 7 years!!!

Another way that turkey tastes good, too, is smoked!!! My daughters boyfriend is opening a barbecue joint over in Oklahoma and he is going to build a commercial size smoke shed and custom smoke hams and turkeys for folks!!!

You have never heard of deep fried turkey!?!?!?!?!?! It is possibly the greatest way to cook a turkey, You get a big bucket of real hot grease and drop it in. Cook a good sized turkey in 2hrs and boy is it the juciest you have ever eaten. Just dont drop it in frozen, its bad news

Oh my god, so me and the wife went out today and got gifts for our recipients and boy was it fun. I got to buy a kit that I would have never even looked at before and now looking at it sitting here I think I want one for myself. And thats one of the points right, not only to make friends but to build something that you wouldnt have bought for yourself. This is so cool, due to the money situation this is kindof our christmas for this year. Probably wont have the money to buy stuff for eachother so this is our source of christmas joy. I have to say, I am very proud of what I bought for *insert name here* and I think he will love it. And I am even more proud of the pretty little lady as she made a great choice for *insert other name here* she really put a lot of thought into it, researched posts and everything! Thanks to everybody for being a part of all this, I always laugh that at this point my group of family friends is composed of people we have never met.

Hope all is well with everybody
