Battleship/Cruiser GB 2008

my pow almost done it just gotta touch a couple of bits up and repair the broken masts (dont ask!) this is my 2nd ever ship 1st time iv used an airbrush 1st time iv attempted any weathering at all 1st time doin camo basically im an absolute noob whos tryin to learn what dya reckon?

any hints tips advice or just outright flaming is welcome

i hadnt started anything in march but have a completed trumpeter 1/350 hood (my 1st ever completed model) entirely brushed id never heard of pe or weathering or rigging is this eligable?

iv also started prince of wales bismark musashi and missouri all tamiya 1/350 scale iv got pe sets for bismark and musashi but they look terrifyin to a noob like me lol iv got an airbrush now too

ps whats the what if conversion for bismark?

Second the motion... I still plan/want to build my USS San Diego, no way I even start by the deadline (Sept) so lets push it a (large) tad into next year, and maybe make an annoucement in the Ships forum.

Go ahead, I back you up. The things that I think make a successful GB are that the leader be the most active builder, so be prepared for that. A couple of good examples are the IJN build (Cardshark), and the Battle of Britain Build (darson); it's pretty key.

Also, the GB leader needs to post a lot, and host little trivia questions etc now and then. It takes a bunch of time and that's why I'd never do it, but I've participated in AND completed six or so. I'm in with the San Francisco, and look forward to putting her together when the rains start. November 12th, the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Measure 21.

CorvetteMike is (in theory) the "owner" of the GB and decides on extensions, but if he is done or off the forums, we could maybe "take over" and give ourselves extensions lol

Very nice job, crips clean construction all around... just looks great so far!

Thanks yall for the kind words, and I can't wait to see what yall will be working on. I do have some more progress on the OHIO , I have a close figure of how many AA guns I'll havae on each side.

12 forward,    thats how many barrels there will be , they will be split into quads, twins and singles, and of course that's not counting the 5" ,16" , 11.5" , 105mm ,and the torpedoe launchers. but here are a few pics of what I got done this week.

prowannab - Looks good so far, Im sure you took care of that fingerprint smudge seen on the last pic! Nice job on the AAs, must have been a pain....

I am still "on schedule" to start my build in a month or so, my workbench getting a lot of action lately finishing up some other GBs. Cheers

how's evryone doing, doing alright myself,but here are a few pics of what i've been doing since my last update.

I'm totally committed. My shop which was in a rental across the street, vaporized at the beginning of April, but I've built a new smaller one in my own (as in its mine) house this weekend.

The USS San Francisco. I've got all the AM stuff, plus paints and the spray booth will be up and running. look for as built over the summer.
