Hey, looks like I'm number 2 on the list. Will be building the 1/35 Tamiya Tiger I Late (35146) with Eduard barrel, Lion Roar PE, and some form of home-made zim. Might try the soldering iron on this one. Wink [;)]

Fired up! That badge is pretty swank-tacular. Big Smile [:D]

Im in with a 1/35 Panther G late or Panther A with zim.  I'll commit to a Panther but might just wait for that new Panther from Dragon with the zim. That might just make life easier for this armor newbie.

I'm in with a Tiger II Initial Production, sPzKp (FKL) 316, Normandy 1944. 1/35 Cyber-Hobby kit, plus Fruil tracks and probably some extra PE.

This should be fun Wink [;)]

1/35 Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther Ausf.GI Early production, Dragon # 6458, if I may?

I still wonder if the supplied steel rimmed wheels could be interleaved with the rubber rimmed ones?

Hey williamsfw28, I'm just finishing up that kit for Winter Warriors...it's a good one! I ended up not using the whole PE sheet - you going for the gusto and doing it ALL? Laugh [(-D]

Gusto.................Um..........Im going to try?  I really didnt want to but what the heck Im going to give it a try. I went ahead and bought Eduards zim for it. It was cheap so if I goof up it was cheap.  But now I know who to bug if and when I run into problems.

Ok, I think I will join and start late summer, after I finish about 15 other builds lol

I will go with either the 1:35 Tamiya Panther A or the Tamiya King Tiger (Konig's), whichever one is easiest to build (?) and does NOT have zimm ;)

OOB of course, I am not good enough for anything else for the momment :)

Cheers~!

Let's see.  I really want to do a Panther for this GB.  Cool [8D]

Put me down for a 1/35 Dragon Panther Ausf. G Late Production.  Unit/markings to be decided later.

This will only be my third armor project and with a baby due in August, 9 months sounds like the perfect amount of time to work with.

I'm in with a 1:35 Tamiya Panther Type G Early.  Kit # (35261). It will be all OOB and the kit includes a PE Zimm set. ( Another IPMS Richmond show score. 20 Bucks vs. 68 dollars retail. SCORE!). I will probably start sometime in late April. I have most of the basics down but weathering is still my "White Whale".Hope you guys are looking forward to lots of pics asking for opinions and/or adviceBig Smile [:D].

Regards,

Jeff

Can I join in?  Still a novice, but I have the DML Panther early G Pz.Rgt 26 and the DML Panther A Premium kits in my limited stash.  Or how about both (he said, biting off more than he can chew Big Smile [:D]) since the Panther A also has call outs for a Pz.Rgt 26 Cat.  Two Italian Big Cats. That would make an interesting contrast, one with zim the other without; one with add-on armor, the other without.

Guys have any of you worked with Warhammer's "Green Stuff "? I was reading about in Armorama the guy was making the stuff look pretty cool as a way to add Zim.  It looked VERY forgiving.

How about a Panther F, would that qualify? If not I've got plenty of other choices, count me in on this build either way.

Yeah SMJ, Panther F and Panther II should qualify as well...with all the IR sighting gear they were the most advanced cats ever...

This is the F, which is essentially a G chassis with the new 'Schmallturm' or small turret. A few saw service in Berlin in 1945.

The Panther II was designed by MAN but with the intent of using many common parts with the Krupp-built King Tiger. It used the Tiger II suspension and tracks, although it had two fewer wheels on each side. The only intact one was found with a Panther G turret, although a new turret was to have been designed.

Ooooh, have that one (6406) in my stash. Going to LOVE seeing you throw that monster together! Mischief [:-,] Should provide a very interesting counterpoint to the Tamiya version I'm doing as well. Big Smile [:D]

SMJ - since you're running a Panthers/Tigers only GB, you should snag a couple of key books - I know you already have Panthers In Action, try to find a copy of Osprey's Panther Tank 1939-1945 (it's something like that). Easy to find, pretty cheap, and gives you a complete rundown of all the Panther variants, production changes, dates, blah blah blah. I found it VERY helpful when backdating my late A to an early A. Same deal with the Tiger, some awesome books out there. Thumbs Up [tup]
