Yeah....I typically don't load my aircraft....and if I do load em it is typically an A2A load....needless to say, I had a few extra A2G weapons....That is maybe half of my little supply dump.

My wee pile o' ordinance now feels WOEFULLY inadequate! Damn! Shock [:O]

Is that stuff all from the kits you're doing, or did you raid the spare parts box as well?

The only kit that I am doing that actually comes with weapons is the A-10....the rest is from the spares bin, but will be hanging under the wings of the others.

Quick progress pic.  Finally looks like an F-15!  I know that I have mucho work at the intakes mainly due to 1) Cutting Edge poor instructions 2) Typical Revell fit and 3) my own ineptness.  I have a sneaking suspicion the conformal fuel tanks will also be a pain to install.

Aside from that, I've begun seam work and have most of the ordnance assembled.  Still have the AIM-120's left, and need to begin installing the Wolfpack OEF updates.

Slowly but surely...

Edit:  Censored [censored]!!!!!!!!!  I just noticed the nose gear is damaged!  The stub for the nose wheel is gone!  Censored [censored]  I swear, I've never had a build with so many issues.  I'm seriously considering tearing the cockpit out of this, buying a replacement kit and starting over.  Cripes!

Edit Part 2:  Okay, not really.  That would be a rather expensive method of finishing.  The good news is I found the missing piece.  Now if this could be the last new hurdle I face that would be nice.  Blindfold [X-)]Big Smile [:D]

I hope for your sake that IS the final hurdle! Dead [xx(]

So your ordinance - is that all Hasegawa Weapons Set D material? What loadout are you going with? And where did you find a loadout chart? Can I ask any more questions in this one post without going overboard? Anybody? Laugh [(-D]

No, the ordnance is a mishmash.  I'd repost the answers to most of your questions, but I'm at work so I'm a little limited.  Back on page 10 I post the aftermarket sets and weapon loadout chart.

The white JDAM's are from Shawn Hull, the Sidewinders and fuel tanks are from the kit, and the rest is from Weapon Set D.  The not shown AIM-120's, however, are from the Flightpath set.  The kit doesn't include them nor do any of the Hasegawa Weapon sets, and I don't have any spares handy.  Dr. Pepper Resin's makes resin AIM-120's, but I decided to try the Flightpath set for the heck of it.

Wow, I remember seeing a large pile of AM going into your bird, but couldn't remember all of the details.

If you do get a chance to answer the loadout-chart question later, that would be sweet. Wink [;)]

Time for a quick update.....

Got the fuselage halves sealed up on the A-7E. Here is the cockpit and intake installed....

And here is the Skyhawk...she's ready for paint, I left off the rear stabs for easier painting.

The A-10 is on hold for a couple weeks....I am waiting on MRC to send me a replacement part....one of the engine nozzles was missing a part. The F-15E is getting close to being ready for paint.....just need to close up a couple seams and mask the canopy.

Agreed.  The loadout charts are probably the nicest aspect of that site, IMHO, and many other sites for aircraft just don't have 'em.  Disapprove [V]

Paul-great progress.  And you're turning out quality work.

arki-would the JOV-1A Mohawk qualify?  Seems that the Army took some OV-1A's (observation planes), had pylons added and were carrying around bombs & rockets and performing ground support until the Air Force complained.  Seems that they continued to do so, but just didn't announce it.....anyway, I don't have the kit in hand, but if it qualifies, I may have to make a purchase.....Whistling [:-^]

Bob, let me do some further research tonight to educate myself better on this aircraft.  From what I know now, I think the answer will be yes.  But I'll get back to you by this evening.

By the way, approximately 3 months left in this build!

Arki-

Item 1-thanks.  Still not sure if that is the route that I will take, but the Mohawk looks interesting.  Part of my dilemma is that I have too many choices that fit the criteria for this GB in my stash and they all interest me. P-47...Spitfire Mk IX w/D-Day markings & bombs, Huey Heavy Hog, Super Cobra.....trying to find a Skyraider on eBay....looking at the JOV-1A...

Item 2-the lack of build time left will have a bearing on my decision.  Realistically, I won't get started on this GB build until late Oct/early Nov.  However, it will be the only build in the schedule until it is finished.  And short of unforseen disaster, I will finish it....on time....

Bob, I'm good with the Mohawk.

I should clarify also, the time left update wasn't directed at you solely, just an FYI for the group in general.

Paul, not to shabby on the detail painting. Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks Arki.  Dunno if I will purchase the Mohawk now....although I want to add one to my collection.  Depends on how a couple of eBay auctions go.  Might even try to organize a Vietnam War GB late next year.

And no offense taken regarding the time update.  Unfortunatly my build choice will probably be dictated by the complexity of the build vs. the time remaining.  But no matter what, it's all good.

Paul-you're killing me-you're turning out high quality work at a very fast pace!

Alright fellas - the Frogfoot is in the bank. Thumbs Up [tup]

Bucketload of ordinance attached - 2x AS-7 Kitchens, 4x rocket pods, 4x 500lb bombs, 2 external fuel tanks. Some time in the future I'd like to do this kit again (with better decals!), preferably in 1/48...does anyone make a good one in 1/48? Man I need to learn to fill seams better. One bad one that stands out. Meh.

One question for you guys - what color are the landing lights (hanging under the wingtips) supposed to be? Was going to go clear/silver but didn't know if there was some red/blue directional colors I should go with. You can't see them in these pics anyway, so I'll be painting them after I find out. Wink [;)] Anyhoo:

Dupes,

Well done on the Frogfoot.  Did you use a wash on her cause those panel lines really pop.  I think you're going to be extremely limited in quarter scale.  Monogram released one years ago, but it's OOP.  Squadron didn't list one, Hannants lists the Kopro but it's listed as sold out.  Even checked ebay, no joy.  If you want something different, Maquette makes the Su-25UB two seater and Zvezda makes the Su-39, the new and improved Frogfoot.  Alas, these are all 1/72.

Hey, thanks guys! I did indeed use a brown panel line wash to get those lines to stand out.

Shame about the lack of 1/48 kits - they're awfully hard to find, and apparently the Monogram version is woefully inaccurate (in fact, based off of the prototype bird). Trumpeter may be releasing a 1/32...which will no doubt be highly badass and highly expensive! Too bad they don't seem to be big fans of 1/48 scale stuff. Boohoo [BH]

Dupes,

Check Hannant's website from time to time.  They listed the Kopro kit as sold out, but they may get it back in shortly.  They carry a lot detail stuff for it so it may be back soon.  Trumpy's kit will probably be all that more and rather large as well.  Unfortunately it's probably easier to make your money back selling 1/32 kits at 100-200 bucks a pop than 1/48 at $30-$50 and 1/72 at $20-$30.

Yep...and gas was 29 cents a gallon when I started driving. AMT car models (1/25th) were less than $2.00.....  Let's don't go there....makes me feel old....ok, I am old....makes me feel older....there.....
