I have a question. Should i use chicken mesh or try to carve a cliff side out of foam. The mats. Im working with are ( green florest foam?, and the plaster wrap). I have the test fit done and did some basic placing of the Zaku, I will gets some pics up when I get home.

Hopefully i can get to paint soon, I was thinking German Grey w/ black cross, and a P for Panzer Division.Photobucket" border="0" />

Thanks, Puma. When I read the original posting on another thread and saw this one, I was debating if I should join or not. Other options were either a BattleTech Clan OmniMech, or a CAV from the game series of the same name. Either one would have sufficed, but Gear Krieg suited the WW2 paint schemes more.

Unlike Iron Wind Metals, Dream Pod 9 actually incorporated several variants into each of their releases, plus they had introduced two (Allies and Axis) weapons packs to allow players to modify the individual walkers into further additional versions.

The American M11A3 General Early combat walker will boast the long-barrelled 37mm cannon, likewise with the British Mk XIIA Roundhead I infantry walker. The two German PanzerKämpfers, on the other hand, will be modified into sub-variants postulated in Gear Krieg's Fighting Vehicles of the Modern Age manual.

It'll be the MG kit.  I have 3 of them lying around since 6 years ago.

That should be interesting.  I never think 'german' when I see the RX lines.  Granted, I do think the IJA.

I'm not sure if my Dom will be considered for this.  Granted it has german Zimmerit, plus its colored in afrika korps colors (more or less), but its holding a GM head, which is painted in classic gm colors, not Wwii

Here's the start of a sketch for my armour fighting suit...all comments welcome:

Interesting. Are you going to completely scratchbuild it?

Yea, I do agree, but I only built up a large stash of gundam kits and not enough zeon ones. =(  Well... I literally only have one zeon kit n that's the kampfer but it's going into a dio with NT-1 so I am putting original colors on it.  (hopefully somebody end up working on a kampfer for this, it's like the perfect kit with the panzerfaust and all) the ground type is robust enough with straight lines to work with a tri color tank camo.  i do have an option for an afrika corp one as well since there actually is a desert paint scheme for the ground type in 08th MS Team.  or else i can break into one of the two EZ8s (one's reserved for dio when and if i ever get gouf custom)...  ah choices, i will just make the 79G first.

Put me down for a 1/20 SF3D Maschinen Krieger A.F.S. Mk 1 Armored suit , probably going to do a WW2 German winter camo scheme.

OK...would it be a problem to change what I said I'd work on?   The source I had in mind for the Raiden dried up and I can't find another anywhere.  I've been watching ebay for them for over a year so that's not likely.

I was figuring on sticking with a Gasaraki mecha and make an Ishtar in some unusual German desert scheme I can find.   I also have a spare Shinden but no ideas yet for a camo scheme.

I've started on the EVA-02.  Still in the construction phase but I'm using the time to look for something WWII-ish in the way of customized weapons I can adapt for the model.  I'll have to do a little research but offhand I figure the LMHG kit is about 1:350 scale so maybe some spare cannons from a Bismarck kit in that scale or some such.

I must do something sort of the same.  I finished the Dom, but at this point, in my opinion, it doesnt fit with the group build.  Granted it sort of has a afrikakorps color scheme, but thats really it, plus im not happy with the zimmerit.

I'm still working on my IJA gundam.  My Japanese flag problem is still there.  No decal and now I have no red paint (suitable for airbrushing) nor do I have any white at all...

Okay, sorry it took so long, but here are the two Gear Krieg PanzerKämpfers fresh out of their packages. I will be starting up on them shortly, modifying them to other variants and applying paint. The longest time spent on those little beauties will be on the latter activity.

One question I forgot to ask: is it all right to base the miniatures on a vignette (mini-diorama) base? I'm thinking more along the lines of terrain, not an actual scene of activity.

Ok, reason NOT to post when running on 3 hours sleep.

Earlier I estimated the scale of LMHG Evangelion kits as 1:350.  It's more like 1:1000.  Oops.

The real bear of it is I was thinking of using WWII battleship cannons as a basis for a custom weapon or two,  but they're gonna look like peashooters in 1:1000.
