Airbrushed the camo today .I used Tamiya paints .I use a stiff brush and rub off the over spray which causes the shine .

Carl, you're just flying thru this bad-boy. I was looking at the zimmerit on my italeri Sturmtiger, and it has zimmerit on the lower front hull as well as the rear. Did your zim come with those?

Yeah, that looks great, Carl---"rub off the overspray"? Cool! I didn't know you could do that---great idea! It will probably serve me well in painting the MERDC scheme on the M110!

Are you going to do an ambush scheme here, or just 3-color?

Interior looks perfect!, greasy and dirty.

What technic you used for the cammo?. hand free, silly putty, tape, etc...

Im about to embark in my firts cammo painting and would like to obtain this type of results.

Garzon , I like airbrushing the camo free hand . I'm using Tamiya acrylics with Tamiya thinner . I found that for spraying camo patterns I have to turn the psi up around 25 for acrylics and down around 15 with enamels .The paint thinned at least 50% for acrylics and 30% for enamels . Keep the airbrush moving across the surface to avoid puddling the paint . To avoid splatter on the model I start the airbrush spray off the model and finish the stroke off the model . When the needle tip gets clogged I clean it with a brush dipped in lacquer thinner .HTH.

I applied the two Balkenreuz decals and over spayed with Future . It took 3 applications of Solvaset tp get the decals snuggled down into the zimm .

Finished this one yesterday . It was a fun build and the old Tamiya kit has a good fit and a descent interior for the age of the kit .Tamiya paints were used for the exterior .Extra RW 61 rounds were contributed by our friend Tony Lee .

Stunning, especially that interior. Always a joy to follow your builds.
