5/13 UPDATE-Project PRINCESS PANZER Completed, Walkaround photos up!!!!

Ohhh, congrats on having your daughter help you; I remember building some wingy things with my dad, and having a blast...though...he did all the work... :P

Can I hazard a guess as to the paint scheme?  Is it going to be ambush pattern with a mixture of pink, pale blue, and grey with little flower outlines replacing the dots, and hannah montana pictures mounted instead of balkenkreuz's and the vehicle number?

There may be pink, but you didn't hear it from me.

Too bad you and your daughter weren't building a T34 or else you could justify painting it pink.

I spotted that at the local club's show a couple years ago.

I am at liberty to disclose that THAT scheme is rather...tame...compared to the scheme that will be applied.

This WIP is really moving along, I am ready to prime the beast.  No photos at present, sorry, but it looks like any other Jagdtiger...for now.

OK, guys, sorry about the non traditional color scheme, this one was dictated to me by my 7 year old.

First, some Tamiya red preshading

Then, some base color, and yes, that is Tamiya "pink" with some flat base

And a shot of thr top, showing the presahding still peeking through

I'm going to "camo" this in specific 7 year old chosen colors, and the cannon color, hold on.  I figure its a dry run to my DML Jagdtiger with Aber and Fruil everything.  OOB is fun, and I can use the freehand AB practice.

Let me know what you think, and I'll pass it along, well, most of it along, to my 7 year old princess anti tank gunner.

OK, I put down some camo, a princess ambush scheme.

Comments and criticisms always welcome, keeping in mind the techniques mine, while the color palette is literally out of my hands.

LOL. This reminds me of those Hostess twinkies with the coconut and zebra stripes.

At least you won't have to worry about weathering this thing. Enjoy the time with the daughter. My daughter and I were working on a VW bug until I inexplicably lost the directions. Talk about a dog of a kit too.

My thoughts EXACTLY, Wayne, but here's what we've got going for today.

The Princess did NOT specify certain things, so although it's a commission/spec build, I have certain liberties.  I will paint the tools in the usual manner, which will be great practice, and I will do a bit of weathering, no mud, but the edges of the steel roadwheels will be worn, and the teeth on the sprockets will get some silver chipping.  Here's a dry fit:

I think it's pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

I must admit I havent built any armor to date but heard about this build in the aircraft forum ( cant remember which one or from whom) and had to check it out. And I am happy I did. Like I said I am envious of you and your Princess sharing modeling, I cant think of a better hobby to pass on. I am very much looking forward to you next pictures. You were worried about ribbing huh LOL, well heres a bit.

WHY is it takin so long to show off your lil girls "PINK TANK" sheesh !! And dont forget the tool bag from one of those shops on Rodeo Drive in Beverily Hills. hehehe

I have always wanted to build a sherman maybe one day I will, no way it will be as nice as this one is though.

I dig it!  Kinda reminds me of a guy in the Aircraft section who built a Hello Kitty F-15.  I think if countries had spent more time painting their weapons of war in kinky, goofy and silly color schemes there would be much less war and many more laughs at the pub over beers!

OK, this week I painted the tools in the usual WBill manner, and edged the road wheels with some steel to represent minimal wear.

Tonight, my wife helped me pick out some "insignia" in the princess vein, we found some dry transfers from a recent toy that weren't being used, sort of an Archer-esque touch, no?

Next stop, tackling the Modelkastens and finishing this bad boy..er..little girl up.

What do you think?

I also plan on stencilling her name on the rear right flank.

Comments welcome, guys.  This build is a blast, but I must confess, she hasn't seen it since she told me where to put what color paint, then said "surprise me."  So you guys are my sounding board, kind of scary, the testosterone brigade calling the shots, but we can do it!

I took my family to the LHS tonight to get some more supplies for my painting project this weekend and my 7 year old brought me a bird house kit she wanted me to buy and build with her! Fun times and they never happen again!
