Hey Tread,

It's always a pleasure to see one of your builds.

Love the grimy "almost but not quite" crusty look, and the rusty "shadows" of where parts once were.

I really like the finish. It most certainly conveys the impression of a well-worn unit. It looks like it's ready to spontaneously dis-assemble.....

I'm glad you decided to post this one Brother Tread! The concept fits perfectly with the finish IMHO and the missing fenders and details around the paint/rust with the bolt holes has just the right effect and attention to detail. Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Tread, I have no idea why you hemmed and hawed over this(I'm sure you have your reasons), but this as always is a work of art. I love the concept of an old warrior nearing the end of its service life. You have captured that in every detail. (insert applause)

That's one mean looking KV Tread, love everything about it. Fantastic painting and very realistic looking tracks. Welcome back and hope to see more of this type of work from you soon.

~treadman ~ Great lookin finish ~ I love it. I guess you feared critics in the anti-rust court, personally, I love what you've done. The textures are rich(turret cast look is Thumbs Up [tup]) The thing looks like it's been rode hard and hung up dry day after day.

~Which kit was it?

Brilliant weathering brother Tread, just looks sweet. Looks pretty darn mean without the fenders. Glad to see you back at it. I too have gotten little completed.

WOW, Treadwell--that's beautifullu done! The finish is not only excellent, but it's a very smartly-conceived build, with the fenders missing and all.

Great to have you showing something again!

finished KV-1e 12 pics
Posted by treadwell on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 9:13 PM

Hey guys,

I have hemmed and hawed with myself over posting these pictures for various reasons.

It has been over a year for me since I have completed a build, but, for better or for worse here are the pics of my KV-1e in 1/35th scale. My second build in this scale.

It represents a vehicle that has had luck in combat to have survived for so long, yet is nearing the end of its' duty.

Thanks for taking time to look,

tread
