Bob:  Thanks as always for your support I am just hoping to get this completed this week which is my goal!

Wayne:  I was hoping you would find that funny!  I am serious though Wayne my little guy took one look at your build photos and broke into a huge grin and started pointing at it and chabbered away!

Super Detail Update:

I am trying to build in more details into the tapestry so I added some canteens and helmets.  Next up is milliput tarps you prob ally won't hear from me again!

Enjoy!

LOL!  Thanks Adam!

Super Detail Update:

After some thought and re-reading WIP feedback I decided Bill was right about the Bren Gun being really cool looking in it's position on top of the boxes but highly unlikely so I stopped making excuses and dived into my first Milli put tarp adventure.  First of all thanks Adam for your little tutorials.  I grabbed a piece of glass, baby powder and a rolling pin and went to town rolling the milliput as flat as I could do than I ran up some tarps.  I tried various methods of covering the gun and the fuel drum didn't like it so I folded and stacked them.

Here you go!

Cool Bob I am glad you like them.  I am afraid though that I have awaken a monster within myself.  I really see the possible application of this stuff now. I was sad about the lack of SAS figures out there and now that I know what can be done with this stuff and how thin and workable it is I will get some Hornet bare heads and make my own SAS figures with a really cool flowing burnoose.  Gives me some ideals for insurgents and modern armor!

God help me it never stops!! Get the images out of my head AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!  Big Smile

Bill:  Jack of All Trades Master of None!!  You know Bill we as modelers are so blessed with all the pre-made AM goodies out there sometimes to our detriment and we lose or never learn basic techiques like using milliput.  I received a Dragon 2Cm Flak38 in th email the other day with PE that was pre-bent!  It was nicely done and had a special tray and everything but isn't that going a little too far?  What's next partially assembled models?

Just a thought not a rant! Wink I am not satisfied with the scale of the two lower tarps after I look at them closer.  I will have to address that and then I think I am going to be over the finish like with this one.

Dave:  You have consistently provide support all the way through this.  This build hit the month mark on the 12th and I should be ready for final photo's later today.  I can't wait to see your figures painted so hurry up!!!! Stick out tongue

Thanks Bob and Jim for you last comments.

I am calling this build complete and I want to Thank everyone once again for your support and posts it is really appreciated and helps me to become a better modeler.

Adam provided some feedback that my first attempt at miliput was OK but the bottom tarps were still a Little over scale so I remade those today as you can see here and I am glad I did.  Thanks Adam for the little push!

Here are just a few shots of the completed model and the total build time was one month and two days!

Thanks again Everyone #12 is on the way!

Congradulations on a fantastic build in all regards Edmund. Unfortunately you've dropped my name one too many times and I'm going to have to step in at this point and take credit for the entire thing. Sorry. I'm certain you'll understand and please build something else for now Clown

But all kidding aside, aren't you glad Bob's on our side?Confused

Edmund I've just got done catching up on this from the beginning and all I can say is... nothing, because I'm totally speechless.

Okay I have my jaw back in place now! This is by far,IMO, your best to dateBow Down. I've loved all your builds but this has to be my fav. And its not even a tankSurprise!

It's gonna take something down right spectacular to knock this guy out out of my #1 spot so I think you got your work cut out for you on your next build.

Jim:  Thanks Jim and just because I appreciate you so much Jim I am going to give you a detailed answer. As to your question it has been a journey.  My original and present ideal was to create an Oasis scene in North Africa where a Italian AS 42 has just arrived with Germans already present at a North African well re-supplying.  The SAS patrol unexpectedly blunders into the two elements and the fun begins!

Originally I was going to build a Steyr 1500 but then I decided to continue with the gun truck theme and represent a gun trunk from all three countries.  I then found the Leadwarrior site and since i already had ordered and received the Steyr I fell in love with the Steyr 2000A 2cm. Flak.38 AA Gun Carrier conversion kit so I ordered it and a Dragon 2 CM 38 Flak 38 with a Lion Roar PE set and metal barrel and all was good with the world.

I then decided maybe I should research a bit to make sure the Steyr 2000A was present in the DAK theater and sure enough that conversion did not happen until 1944 and was only on the Western and Eastern Front. I admit to a little flare up of impolite language!  Not to be daunted I then decided I would build that on the eastern front and that I would build a Horch1A 2cm Flak38 conversion.  Remember this is all happening as I am building the Chevy.  I am a busy little multi-tasker!  I then joined Ebay and found the old Tamiya Horch 1a with Flack 38 for $10.00 no shipping because the lady lived ten minutes from me and I found the Edward PE set for $15.00 from R&J.  Again all was good with the world and visions of scratch building kept me warm at night.

This reference picture was my inspiration:

I was very happy and I am still waiting for the Lead warrior conversion kit to arrive so to make a long story longer depending when that shows up I will build that or the Horch1A.

Bob:  You  have definitely been a constant supporter of this WIP thank you sir for you nice comments and support!

Adam:  Thank you some much for the help with the milliput tarps and the rifle slings.

Terry:  Thank you for the vote of confidence Terry maybe I should ask if you can be a guest judge!

Marc:  Thanks Marc i am glad you liked it!

Wbill:  Thanks as always for your constant presence on my WIPs. Thanks again for the comments and suggestions for the headlights.  It was well worth the effort!

Tony:  You are too kind Tony.  I have a looong ways to go to be where I want to be and the NWM figures are so well molded painting is easy!

Steve: Big Smile I am glad you liked it Steve and I hope I am not responsible for any TMJ!

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder.  It's a deterioration of the jaw and very painful.  It was a joke about your jaw dropping that fell so flat it probably squished somebody!
