Ed-  I consider myself one of the rookies who have joined the forum no more than a year ago.  I wanted to let you know it has been a great learning experience for me to follow your builds.  You are truly one of the masters now. 

Indy- I definitely want those luggage set for Christmas... no way nobody is going to steal those ever!

Andy that's a very sweet thing to say.  I am still very much a new guy and I have lots of subjects I want to build and many skill sets I want to acquire.  It's very exciting to learn how to make these static subjects come alive in all their detail.  Anytime I get full of myself I simply look at work from Indy, Bodge, Karl, Wbill, Disaster Master, Wingnut and many other examples not to mention Steve Z. or Adam Wilder.

Looking at their work brings back the wonder and joy of my childhood and its pretty cool.  I remember i was so excited after my Saharina build I remarked to one of my modeling Friends that it looked real, and he laughed and said that's kind of the point isn't it that's why we call ourselves modelers!

Wayne thanks for bringing a smile to my wife and I this morning.  That's a cool picture.  You are awesome too!

Hey Stephen that's cool and you won't have to wait much longer I did some final presentation and adjusting of the figures so the rearmost figure would be bracing himself on the gun and wood stakes of the sides.  I also did a mock up of storage and I need to cut off the handles of the flimsies and beat them up probably with a heated dental probe.

Thanks Tony I hipe so it will not be from a lack of research and planning if it doesn't turn out well that will be all on me.

Hi, Edmund, its a while since I checked your progress on this one. Brilliant work so far and I must say that the Figures will make all the difference with this one, even primed the action can be sensed.

Well Edmund, What  can I say? You know me, I say plenty...sometimes too much.  But your Desert Chevy is coming out to be even more epic than the Desert Lambo from last build(if that's even possible !?) These guys I'm sure wouldn't mind a post with images of that, I'm sure......Anyways the paint scheme you picked is very cool, I'm fairly sure you nailed it.     Odd thing, with the silly puttty in place it looks a good deal like The Pink scheme in place!

Build Update:

I applied decals tonight.  The decals are water slide and I only use distilled water to avoid any unexpected discoloring or mineral deposits.  I first applied a coat of future.
I then applied the decals and sprayed another light coat of Future to seal in the decals.
Due to the act that I like a finish with tooth for my weathering I then applied a Flat coat of Model Master Acryl.
Thanks all!  That's it for tonight. The fun part starts tomorrow!

I cannot believe that a British site approved a picture of an Retired Sargeant standiing in his kitchen presenting arms with a M16 as an Avatar!!!  LOL!!.  I told Bob that and he told me it's not his fault they lost two wars against us!!  OMG I was laughing.  No offense to any Britsh folks I love you guys to pieces.  One of my good froends had his first extracurricual experience with a young lady under a Roman Arch in England as a lad.  How cool is that!!  Mine was in a '72 Duster.  This has absoltuely nothing to do with modeling!

Ok, it's not just that "nutball with a .223" picture, There is the end of Dirty Harry's .44,   Me and my .50 -packing jeep and you giving "the look"(whatever that is). It's a rightout American Invasion of Briain going on there! Don't you wonder what they're thinking of it?

Build Update:  I wanted to use Elf Productions Headlights for the Chevy because they are such a prominent feature and Mr. Tamiya didn't do me any favors with the plastic blobs in the kit.  I tried to use Model Master Clear Parts Cement & Window Maker but it ws frustrating because it is not very tacky and takes an hour to set up according to the directions.  I then got the ideal to use a little Future which solved th issue without clouding the lenses. Thanks for the tip today to use Tamiya Clear Adam I picked some up just in case the Future doesn't;t hold up to the weathering.

I used a 80\30 mix XF-23 (Light Blue), and X-2 (White).  Maybe it's the lighting or the setting in my camera.
