Hey What's New??? I can, if you need it, recomend a good divorce lawyer! You end up with more money to spend on modeling, with less hassels! As I am new, (to here .... not to modeling though...) I thought I would make a small contribution to the delema! I've been modeling on and off since 1972, and I remember the day's when Big T was the only game in town! My current projects are Trumpeter's M1A1 and HC's Bradley. I have spent about 6 months on the M1A1 so far, and about 1 1/2 months on the Bradley. (I go for extreme accuracy!) I found that the only way to keep the GF's in line was to tell them up front on the first date, that you, honey sometimes come second to my modeling! Cheers!

I picked up the the hobby recently again. And Basically my wife is very supportive got 3 new kits from her for my Bithday and for x-mas. If I need some cheeseclothes or I am out of paint, np. as long as I don't overdue it and no new kits untilthe ones at home are finished.

I travel in my work and got bored when a trip lasted longer than expected. The kit from Wal-Mart was cheap... it was the ensuing 100$ dollars in supplies that killed me. At least it won't happen on the next trip as I now have a kit of supplies for the road!

The only problem I have with my lady is when I get another kit, while I still have so many not started. She doesn't really say anything; It's just that "look". And why does a tiny little box of Verlinden "military packs" cost $15 ? :-)

Reading this thread I'm struck (mild laughter) by the fact of regardless of where we live, or our cultural differences and/or likenesses, there appears to be a common theme (overspending) amongst the married modelers (I'm one for 25 years) here. I am comforted by the fact that I am not alone (sorry dear, didn't mean to take all the covers)! I see that even the single modelers have occasion to have similar problems (overspending). They just don't have a spouse reminding the rest of us of our faults (yes dear I did see that last charge on the VISA card)!

Anyway, whenever I blurt out (usually in self-defense) to my beloved wife "you don't have a sense of humor!", she will look me square in the eye and reply "married you didn't I?" That usually puts me in my place and we proceed merrily (or is that marrily) along! Now how much is that new Dragon 1/35th Tiger II kit gonna cost me?

I have a couple of expensive hobbies, offroading and medium format photography. In the past I used my OT pay for fundage.

Well my wife is taking painting classes and buy paints and supplies like there is no tommorrow.

When I decided to get back into modeliing I decided that it is MY out of the budget hobie hehehe so far so good...
