Its interesting with the Disney characters in WWII and just prior. They were painted on vehicles of both the Axis and Allies. Mickey Mouse in particular, Donald Duck as well, Italians used him, as well as the British (on Polish Pilot in particular) . This is just each generation placing their cultural icons on their war vehicles. There were cartoon characters on Italian WWI aircraft. Some one would probably find an even earlier reference as well.

At least one Italian squadron used "Pistol-Pack'n Pete" as an insignia.  Adolf Galland's squadron used Mickey Mouse.

Guys, It seems like that snake bite is back to bite me in the a$$. It seems the copperhead bite did a bit more damage than thought. It's been breaking down my red blood cells. I have been going through some pretty hairy health care problems that have left me with an imunodefinincy (easy to get sick, etc..) I had chemo last year with some great success but a depressed immune system. That coupled with the snake bite has sent my body into a tailspin. I might need some transfusions and futhur treatment.  I have nothing but positive thoughts for the next few weeks. That being said... Lady Gaga.....

IAR IAR-80/IAR-81 - Romania

Here's Jan Zumbach's "Mad Duck" and below it a Romanian IAR 80 with Mickey Mouse.

I thought it was an advertising ploy by her marketing people (or is that mother and father), can't be long before we see that happening. Next war will be brought to you sponsored by Coke, Pizza Hut and Microsoft.

Wonder how an Abrams would look in the Coke colours?? I dare someone to try it Devil

How about a Challenger in a Boddington's Porter scheme?  Yellow and black might be impressive.

Boddingtons (or Boddies as we call it) used to be brewed near me till some American firm took it over and cocked it up.

I'm almost tempted to suggest a group build but dont want the problems of copyright etc.

I got a chuckle out of the Transformer logo on that Stryker. I wonder if there are some tooling around with 80's GI Joe logos, that thought of that makes me smile.

The German balkencross on their tanks were orriginally solid white. During the invasion of Poland, the Poles would just lineup the cross hairs on the cross and fire. Once this was realized by the Germans they repainted the crosses yellow making them harder to see.

Just as good as a bull's eye.

Yup, as bad as the Allies big white star surrounded by a circle post D-Day.  It just screamed "Shoot me here!"  Not too hard to see why they painted them black later.  Now if somebody put Lady Gaga on the side of their ride, I'd definitely have to put a round into her.  Like John Wayne said, "Some people were just put on this Earth for killing."

You guys are looking at this all wrong.

Think about everything you know and think you know about Lady Gaga. What do you think that tells you about her politics. Now, how do you think SHE feels knowing that there is this awesome killing machine out there with her name on it...Devil
