I agree they do get a bit of a bad rap. I built the Ostwind kit a couple of years ago and that was very nice. And i have a Panzerwerfer 42 and a Bergepanther in the stash which do look very nice. But i still tend to only buy their kits when theres no other option, but i don't know why really. They are better than we give them credit for.
Remember when Tamiya was coming out with their armor kits that all had the holes in the hull for the motorization of them , i thought that idea made them seem like toys . Then Italeri came out with some fairly accurate kits for the time , 1980's . And their price was a lot cheaper than Tamiya . Then tamiya kits got better and Dragon came along , afv , Academy ......etc . and i think Italeri got left behind on their quality .
