Oh man, that is a lot of wheels. Not the fun part of armor.

Nice work on the camo pattern and road wheels Anthony! One small minor detail to point out, on the left side set of 3 pipes, the two smaller pipes were just air vents vs. standard exhaust and so wouldn't have rusted like the main exhaust (not subjected to the same heat/moisture variations for example) and would likely have stayed hull color vs. the way you have them now.

Like where this one's heading! Yes

I didn't know that either. That means that pretty much anyone that has built one has done them wrong. Big Smile

Here are some more updates:Most tools still need to be installed,Still need more washing and pin washes,DS Tracks were painted with Tamiya XF-64 and dusted with MIG's Track brown pigment which give them a nice dark brown, then I hit the high points with MM gun-metal,still more dusting to come.Any advice or suggestions that I can still fix or use in the future are appreciated:

Great work on the camo and tracks! Yes  You are getting much closer to the finish line.  My only feedback has nothing to do with your build... it would be great if you can add more light Idea so everybody can see your great results better. Big Smile

If you can, try to get some pictures outside, it'll make a world of difference.

Yes Anthony - It looks great! By the way, What are DS tracks?

Not much progress on mine as I just bought a decal making company for model railroad stuff so I've been real busy dealing with that. However, I used the cast on running board and Schurzen mounts on the DML kit as the mounting dimensions for the Aber PE hangers and boards. Grrr, they were not the same dimensions and I now have to remove them and do over again. No

Can't wait to see your finished model in better light too.

DS tracks are Dragons modern version of the rubber band tracks found on tamita, taleri and other kits. Though the DS are supposed to be alot better than the other types.

Thanx for the info Bish. I have a set of Fruil tracks for mine. Also, Melchior has graciously offered to send me his leftover Sternantenne plastic mounts from his DML Sternantenne kit since Armorscale is in a blackout state.

I am a big fan of Fruils. If it wasn't for the cost, i would replace every set of kit tracks i have with them. As it is i just replace the bubber band tracks. But i have 3 with DS tracks, and even though i am not 100% convinced, i am going to give them a try. Might as well give them a go instead of spending 3100 on 3 sets of Fuils.

They hold paint better and glue together, unlike the older Tamiya and Italeri which you had to melt the pins together.

Thanks Tiger. I know they also have better detail than the other track types. I think i should at least give them a try before judging them harshly.

Thanks everyone for your interest and encouragement,I know the pictures aren't great, just took them real quick in the basement so I could post something.Final shots will either be outside or in my photo booth.

Yes Bish I agree, the Friuls are the gold standard and I have used them quite a few times, but I can't bring myself to drop $35.00 for each kit."we all make our choices".But these DS are much better then old vinyl tracks, and they are not bad.

$35, i bloody wish. here they are between £28 and £31, which probably works out around $45 or so. So it works out at quite an expense. I think i must have 20 sets all waiting to be used, but i have resisted replacing indy link tracks, even the old Dragon ones, so i think i can give the DS a go.

I agree they are generally not as well molded as the indies, but the Elefant DS tracks saved my life. I couldn't get the indies to wrap around the sprocket. Of course, I've since learned a better way of doing the tracks. Bang Head

Not happy with the color/weathering (I need to fix it with some pastels), but as you can see they look the part.

Yeah - $37.50 US is steep (www.rollmodels.com) but not the $45 indicated by Bish.

O, nice Elefant tiger. And the tracks do look nice. I have 3 sets, 2 Panther and 1 Tiger. At first i wasn't to impressed because 2 of them came in expensive CH kits. Well, will see how they go, have never heard a bad  about them.

Book, thats the uaul over here. I can often get a kit from Sprue Brothers, including postage across the pond, for less than they cost over here.

Looks great Anthony. Yes I enjoyed the build so much, that I bought the Ferdy Premium kit. It looks like you have the Premium kit?

I wasn't happy with some of the weathering, decals broke, and I muffed them up with the flat coat. I really did like the kit tracks, painted them and they just fell to pieces. At least the Premium kit comes with magic tracks.

Got her finished today,a real nice kit,no issues for me except spare tracks don't fit the rack, must be worked on to fit properly on the brackets.I used Tamiya,Vallejo, and MM Paints.weathered with Mig Pigments and washes, also used an oil raw umber wash.Pics aren't the greatest,I tried indoors and outdoors. As always any comments welcome.

Really smoothlookin' results Anthony. Looks like it came outta a book.....http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smileys-and-emoticons/thumbs/smileys-thumbs-315757.gif

http://www.baduku.com/img/1259017598.jpg The only Nit un-picked, would be the lack of that fresh metallic shine on the contact areas of the inner road wheels, think like whitewalls on a car tire.
