Everyone has to think of the benifits for voting for the BLITZKRIEG IN THE WEST!  Not only are there several contries and several of there vehicles that can be represented, theres more!  Think about all the contributions that their where, such as:  French Fries, French Onion Soup, French Kissisng, French Lingerie, French Actress, French Maids, and French Bikinies.

These are only a few of the things one should consider when casting ones vote.  Vote for the BLITZ and keep the city of lights lit!

HOLY SMOKES! Bill considering a GB?

Hey, can I change my vote to BITW to increase the odds that he'll be a part of it?

I will only participate in the GB if the BITW wins, otherwise I will bow out. Wink.

Some corrections/additions need to be made though to the eligible German BITW list assuming that we are saying that the GB only applies to the Battle of France timeframe (meaning end of May 1940).

You would only see Pz III E-G in that campaign, the H didn't start production until Nov 1940. Only G's with 3.7cm guns would have saw combat, the first 5.0cm equipped Pz IIIs were produced in July 1940.

StuG III As saw service as did the Bison I and Pzjager I.

Pz 38t would be limited to the A-C variants but mostly As or Bs since the C didn't start production until May '40.

The full list of eligible German gear for the BoF campaign is quite extensive and there are a lot of potential subjects/kits to choose from out there now than there used to be for sure.

Goodness I missed so many. It will be easier when we narrow our build down, which is getting harder to count the votes.

B of B - 9

Blitz in West - 9

North Africa - 3

Barbarossa - 1

Manny, I wasn't sure Tiger I's were prominent, but I would have to think that there was at least 1 there.

Well, worst case is I go with the Jagdpanzer or a Panther.

Because Bill has many builds published in the FSM so his vote is worth five votes.  Now it stands at:

Blitz in the West- 12

North Africa- 3

I've got several possibilities but would lean heavily towards a DML Pz III-E. Smile

Sorry Ernest. I thought the North African would have been more popular.

B of B - 8

Blitz in West - 7

North Africa - 2

i guess Barbarossa is kaput.

Interesting.....I would have thought that the Blitz in the West would have had a larger margin.....and that North Africa would have shown more interest.

I think I'm going to be Switzerland....just stay neutral and open up a bank.....(I know...poor taste).  Seriously, I like all of the choices and will go with whatever the popular vote ends up.

You're not getting off that easy........

I too thought France was a unique choice, in that it offered early war vehicles and plenty of French armor, but like most, I image the bulk of most collections is Shermans, Tigers and the such. Thus Bulge.

I'm leaning to my Tiger I if indeed it's a Bulge GB.

A Tiger I in the BoB would be a rarity...I don't believe it was on any order-of-battle for the Germans...lots of Panthers and Tiger II's instead...

Hi Eric :)

Remember when you did the Kursk build...(rhetorical ) LOL... any how, at that time you posed a list of eligible builds for the category...  well now you have many attractive categories...maybe with help, (cause I could use it) interested members could help compile lists for each battle of the eligible vehicles pursuant to their choice....( that was a 5 dollar sentence)... ya see where I am going with this?  ... I am interested.

I am going to begin by doing some reading on the different battles.

thanks for your time

Oh boy, you opened a can of worms Bill.

Since it's pretty much a two horse race here, let's start with Blitz in the West:

We could have: (Bound to miss some)

French Renaults F-17, R-35's, Somuas, Char B's, Hotchkiss 35, 38, 39's, ammunition carriers

British Matildas, Vickers Light tanks, Cruiser A9/15, Bren Gun Carriers

German Pz I, II A-F?, III E-F, IV A-D, halftracks 251A-C,  semi-tracks, artillery

For a Bulge:

American Shermans: (M4A1, M4A3 (A2s were mostly Lend/Lease and PTO, right?), M4A3(76), M4A3E8, etc etc,, Hellcats, Priests, M-8 Greyhound, M-5, M-10's, M-24's, M-36's, halftracks, artillery

British ( I hear they were there) Churchills, Cromwells, Valentines ?, Firefly Ic, Firefly V, Achilles, Archer

German Pz IV's, Panthers, Tiger I, Tiger II, Jagdtiger, Stug III G, Hetzers, Hummel, Wespe, Jagdpanzer IV,  halftracks, etc.

Like I said, bound to miss some, but I'd say those are some of the major players.
