This should be a fun one to watch Rodolfo. The Tamiya Tiger I Late was one of my all-time favorite kits. You look like you have everything but the kitchen sink. What are you using for the zimmerit?

Smile Thanks for your kind comments friends!

This kit was presented as: "Tank late Version Limited Memorial Set" in 2004 in Philippines, but I think that is the same old mold kit.

Preparing the way for applying the Zimmerit.

I will use the tools and the Polyester Putty of Tamiya , both are an excellent resource.

Filling the holes before to assemble the tools with Photoetched.

Rodolfo

Smile Thanks for your kind comments friends!.   I made the damage to the box turret by drilling the 2 holes and then with the flame of a candle, at a moderated distance, I waited until it was soften and pushed with a tweezers of heavy end  (non-pointed).  Soon more pics!

GREAT idea with the lead wire.  Since the roof doesn't go in flush with the side of the turret, I tried to use styrene rod but just can't get that welded look right.  Gonna try it.  Thanks for posting that tip.

Did you do it dry or wet it with liquid cement first?  I always use the Testor's liquid (pink label) to soften it first... Work in one-inch sections at a time, letting the cement set up before moving onto the next part of the bead..

I also just happen to have order the same lead wire a few weeks ago before I saw this thread so I'll be trying your idea.

Hey Rodolfo, those tracks look mighty nice and they even come with pins. I though Friuls were the only guys to that. Great idea as long as they fit without and fuss.

Smile Hello friends!

 More updates!

Before starting the weathering of the tracks, I applied a coat of gloss varnish.  For the process I will use: solvent spirit - pigments - black, shadow toast and indian-red.

Step 1.- Mixing black and shadow toast pigments it gives a dark earth tone.   Step 2.- A little touching of spirit and after of drying I applied indian-red pigments and finally remove the excess.

Applying a dry brush of Metalcote of Monogram-Humbrol gives an excellent metallic tone (type graphite).

Mixing pigments:  ochre yellow + shadow toast and little of white, they give a French earth tone.  I remove the excess and finally applied Metalcote.  Ready!!

 Regards!
Rodolfo

Hey buddy,

I love this build! beautiful work and by God what a stunning paint scheme - the turret roof inspires awa!

My personal preference is for early war Pz I's and II's but I'm currently building my second Tiger I and I'm growing very find of them. My first was Dragon's 6600 Initial Tiger and my current wip is for Tigermans 'Steel Cats' GB. For that I'm building Dragons 6383 Pz IV Ausf E c/w moulded on Zim with Friuls and RB Barrel / RB Antennae and AM shackles.

I'll be following this closely and using some of your tips too.

Lovely work!
