Hi guys . I mixed Tamiya flat base with Future and thinned it with Windex glass cleaner and sprayed the entire model with this concoction in order to give a more realistic matt finish . Next i'll do some more weathering with chalks . Yes

Decal work turned out very nice and you really smoothed them out beautifully.  Your shading looks FABULOUS Yes  It just gave a whole new dimension to the overall look.

The Marines did a lot of cool/different markings and schemes in the Pacific...so you have several options especially when it comes to Iwo. Love the progress, keep the updates coming Carl!

Looks cool, Shell...I think if ya did it with the 'Star and Bars" like in the pic it would be cool and unusual....always good to work off a real pic. Beer

treadCool

p.s. the 'streaking' effect came out nice

Here's where i am with the weathering so far .I applied a wash of black oils and sealed that with Future . This is going to be a USMC M4 in the Pacific theater of WW II . Now i want to come up with some markings . I did some research and i dont find much in the way of markings on the USMC tanks .I have this pic of a M4 dozer on Iwo Jima (?) .

Here's where my model is now with the weathering .

WOW, man--I just got a chance to look through this post and am sorry I missed all the superb work you've done here! From the casting on the front glacis, to the dozer blade, and the weathering so far, you're seriously conquering this kit with s-t-y-l-e! Big Smile

Finished assembling , painting and weathering the running gear . I used burnt umber oils , tan and brown chalks , dry brushed with light gray on the hull and bogies . The tracks were painted flat black , washed with burnt umber oils , dry brushed with light gray and aluminum , Finally a application of brown and  tan chalks was applied over all to tone down and blend the colors .The hull is not yet painted o.d.
