I see what you're saying Andy. Well, that kind of goes against what the GB Forum was designed to do. I honestly don't see many GB's in their respective threads, i.e. armor or aircraft.

Let's take a vote.

A. We start a thread proper in the Armor Forum

B. We start a new thread in the GB forum

Their have been a few GB's in their respective forums. I found it a bit odd, at first i thought it was an error. But it seems some people like it.

I do prefer GB's in the GB forum, but to be honest i am easy.

I will vote for B though.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I vote for B

If someone wants to display their completed build seperatly in the Armor section for others benefits, they can do that.I have seen some go that route

Also voting B -- you could let this thread be the pre-build information exchange venue, then start the main thread when the due date arrives (that's what I do when I'm hosting); but opening the main thread on the GB forum right now would also be perfectly appropriate. I've taken part in a few GBs in the aircraft and armor forums, but it always seems like the GB forum is the best place for them.

Cheers, Mike/TB379

I'll go with B as well. I normally glance over both the GB and Armour forums every day but still a GB just seems to fit better in the GB forum even if it's an Armour subject.

Cool! Beer  Like I said I thought I'd bring this up but looks like everybody prefer the traditional way.  I won't be surprised the armor forum will be dead slow when Big Cat GB kicks off.  LOL

Heading to GB now...

I changed the name to Steel Cats. The name may get changed back if people don't care for it.

I'll still have a couple of builds going on at the same time, so I may be here by myself lol

Tigerman:  I've hosted a couple of GB's and it seems to work best to have the feeler thread in the genre of the intended participants (that's a fancy way of saying, put it in Armor).  You've already done that with this thread but you may want to change the intro thread from "Big Cats Group Build Feeler" to something like "BIg Cats GB, confirmed"  Then write a post directing everyone over to the GB's. *EDIT, I just found your thread directing us to the GB's*

Thanks for your willingness to let me host this one again but I'll humbly hand over the mic' to you.  IMHO:  No Hellcats, they weren't part of a series of tanks with predator names.  Steel Cats...hmmmm, not sure about the name....I don't have any suggestions(are you taking suggestions?) but the word "predator", as part of a bigger name, has potential.  Lastly, you have a Flakpanzer V Coelian on the list...is that a "cat"?...I claim ignorance here.

Great to see this idea has sprung...I'm going to go pounce on the GB section and sign in!!!

I decided to open it up to variants and the Coelian is a variant of the Panther. It just gives a few more options and a little variety.

I'm killing the Hellcat and may do the same to the Leopard ads well. Keeps it all within WW II.

No, not at all. I know that it served with distinction in WW II and even after. My first thinking was Big Cats was strictly German. Big Cats=Tigers and Panthers. Hellcat, is pretty generic terminology. While Tigers were a hell-uv-a-cat, the name is specific to a real mammal.

The name Steel Cats is perhaps more generic, therefore applying to all armor under that guise, but I think I just want it to center along German armor. Sorry to be so waffeling on this subject. You do have a case under it's present name. Perhaps less so under the old.

I think the name change will give it a little distinction over the old GB and personalize it a little better.

Sorry Steve, I 86'd the Leopard. My bad for stepping outside of my idea and waving it around. I decided to just stay within the Panther & Tiger family. The Grand Poobah has spoken. LOL

No sweat Eric, I'll save the Leopard for later...in fact this whole process gave me an idea for a future GB called "Evolution of Armor"  The premise would be to choose a WWII tank and a modern tank and model them both in a similar but appropriate paint scheme. The idea came to me as I viewed my "cart" on LuckyModel...I was surprised how much the box art of the AFV Tiger I Late, decked out in a three colored paint scheme, looked like the box art of the Hobbyboss Leopard.  It was like seeing the natural evolution of the tanks...kind of like the Corvette, Mustang and Charger evolution.

Thanks P-38 and Steve for your understanding. I hope everything is clarified as to not confuse anyone. I changed the original GB thread to reflect the decisions made.

Steve, that might be an interesting idea, but you better give it a long time frame, for some of us can't build two in a year!
