SMJ - I had two entries, a silver and bronze. As I have stated in the past, for me it is not the medals but being with my fellow modelers and sharing a weekend of experiences that makes the show for me.

Stick - I would agree that forum participation has dropped off. I don't think it is a function of FSM but a general trend in the hobby. This show had the highest number of entries since 2008. I think the economy has hit all hobbies hard. I see a similar drop off say on Armorama. Talk to the vendors at shows.....they are dying. I am in charge of the show raffle and many manufactures have told us they are cutting back.

On the bright side, most of our vendors were at break even by early Sat morning so the vendors made a profit and were happy, and they all said this year was better than the past few.

All in all it was a great show. It was great to see all my FSM friends there.

Lastly, as for the west coast shindig....I feel for you and hope it will be soon

I still feel pumped about the show, My wife had a great time and after the show I stayed an extra night and we got  'crunked'  Devil WhistlingDrinksas they say nowadays ...LOL...  I know I posted this picture on the first page of the thread, but, dang......don't harsh the buzz .... LOLToast

Well Tread, this is a 'bragging rights' thread and you certainly have every right to brag! It sounds and looks like it was a fantasticly good time! And in the end, that is what we are here for, to have fun in our own twisted way

I feel like the FSM forum is on life support in a vegetative state.... Sad

I wonder??, I have noticed that we now have many more builders of a very high standard than we did a few years ago, so Accolades get fewer and are harder to earn.

This can only be a good thing,  as modellers are improving due perhaps from the advice/tips and encouragement found on this forum.

For some the standard may be a bit intimidating ( it is for me ) but I struggle on and always look forward to the comments my builds receive, good or bad.

Hope I am making some sense here!!

However many YesYesYes to you. Always a pleasure to see your builds...cheers....Kenny

redleg12:  Thanks for checking in...did the M4HST get the silver? ( I still need to surf over and check out the finished product on your post)  What was your other entry?

stikpusher: off topic Smile Dotsbut...how did you add all those badges to your tag line?  I don't have nearly that many but I'd like to add a few more of my favorites.  Would you mind shooting me a private message and let me know where to go/ how to do that?

SMJ, on another thread a month or so ago I mentioned how I had stopped using my GB badges becuase I could only post a couple and I was too computer illiterate to do a proper slide show (I tried). Another forum member, Old Ordie, graciuosly offered to build this fruit salad for me and did so when I linked him to my photobucket album that had all of my GB badges.  I have to publicly give credit where credit is due to a very helpful member here. Contact him and I am sure that he will gladly help you out.

I see him a lot in GBs and Aircraft  Yeah the banner he made reminds me of all the service ribbons on a Class A uniform which was nicknamed "Fruit Salad"....

Is that another Kalmbach site?

Yup, it's the automotive only version of FSM. I was a member there since 2003 before the U.S. government banned alot of my favorite products and I swapped from autos to armor.

Well if they run it in the same manner as here nowadays that makes sense about folks leaving or reducing their contributions.

I feel ya....

And it makes sense to me.

I lurked here for a couple months before I joined, all the while trying to improve my skills to the point I felt worthy to contribute.

But I'm still humbled by the skills most builders display here.

Hi ShellSmile

Man I am sorry I haven't put any pics up.. I want to do pics of my Gatling Gun because I don't think any are on line . after I took the pic of the medals I dropped my camera trying to get the picture card out and it is not functioning right now... I think it is the card , not the camera, but I can't get it to switch to internal memory. I will get pics up asap ... nice to hear from you ..it is hard to find you now that the ZiL is finished...ZiL would have been great to see at ampsStick out tongue
