Link to the Type 3 Chi-Nu.  You can see some basic pics of the kit.

Lol, a female crew would be interesting!

I really don't need to start any more projects though. Still, ya know I think I'll keep the idea on the back-burner!

WOW!  A Tiger P!  I'z Gotz to get me one of Thoze!!

When does the group build start?  I forgot that I have a Tamiya M3 Lee in the stash (was going to sell it) that I could paint pink. Wink  I've got other plans for my Academy M3.

I don't really have anything from the series but I swear if Watchman builds a pink M3 Lee I'll do a M18 Hellcat with an all female crew- I'm thinking a hypothetical American team with cowgirls...

Ahh, I'm not sure if I could stand to see it dressed in pink.  I wouldn't mind putting in the female crew, tho!  ...along with some seat cushons and hatch opening treatments. Wink

Dragon have never tooled a Tiger (P) prototype, as shown in the illustration. I can only assume the kit will build their uparmoured Tiger (P) with the production turret.

David

Thanks David, I was unaware that anyone made a Tiger P in 1/35 scale.  I see Dragon makes one, kit 6210.  Is that the production version?

I'm anxious to see pics of the actual Platz kit.

Thanks Armourguy, I haven't watched that far. I was thinking with an open top TD I could put the whole crew in there instead of just having them popped out of the hatches.

I was thinking about it last night and I've got  a 1/48th Tamiya M10 in the stash which is pretty close in scale to some 25mm cowgirl gaming figures I have...  Hmm

There is an american tank team, they mostly wear US tanker jackets.

It looks like that the base model that was used for the 3d animations was the early production tamiya sherman kit

I've been watching all of the episodes w subtitles on this website since the show came out in the fall.

http://anilinkz.com/girls-und-panzer-episode-1

They postponed the last two episodes of the season because of animation issues. The last two episodes are to be aired in japan in March.

CaptBigMoney

Not to mention the Tamiya and Dragon model boxes in the background of the store, and again in one of the girl's rooms.

Yes, I like the Yukari's bedroom door curtains (Noren).  The are printed with a tank tread pattern. Big Smile

Watch carefully.  There's plenty of other little homages to tanks and WWII.  I think it's in Ep 2 that they go shopping at "Market Garden".  They actually watch a scene from Kelly's Heroes in Ep 10.  Not to mention the Tamiya and Dragon model boxes in the background of the store, and again in one of the girl's rooms.

Even if you don't buy the premise, its worth watching just for the wonderful tank animation.

I think you can tell from my callsign and avatar that I'm a big fan of many things Japanese. Other things as a Westerner totally mystify me... Hmm

lol.  My wife said, "Yuck" when I asked her about it.  She's never seen it at BR 31, and said it might be a local specialty.

As far as the hippo oshiri goes, I don't know either.  I think it's funny.

Mascot huh? Thanks for the clarifacation Watchmann. But I'm still not sure why they chose to post this particular view of Mr Hippo, but then, there are many aspects of Japanese culture I don't fully understand. Whistling

I think I'll get a big bowl of Basashi Aisu, (raw horseflesh ice cream) and top it off with a double helping of Shirako (you can look that one up) and go play with my Urinal Elephant.  Ick!

Please just laugh, no offense intended, no hate mail please....It's not like there aren't weird foods and stuff here. It's all relative. Smile Burger

I really like the stug III colors.  I've got a Lee in the stash, but I ain't painting it pink. ;)

The official kits are made by Platz and FineMolds.  Should be nice builds.

I'd be interested in a GB, but I want to see more episodes so I can see what other tanks they use in the show.

lol.  No, that's the tank's specific mascot; Hippo.  The other tanks have their own mascots, including Rabbit, Fish (angler fish), Duck, etc.

Rather ironic that I stumbled upon this the other day and wondered what in the world this was;

I'm not familiar with the Blue Hippo Bung-Hole brand, are they any good?  Huh?

I just finished episode 8 last night.  Good stuff.  They referred to Brig. Gen. Anthony McAuliffe's response to Lt. Gen. Heinrich Freiherr von Luttwitz's requst for surrender.

Indifferent

They were actually playing "Die braune Kompanie" in the background during the second one. Bad taste in music?

Thanks for posting this Ps1scm - it's.... interesting....

Funny that I should love Japanese Kaiju (giant monster) movies but never really 'got' anime/manga - even the good stuff like Mizoyaki. Still really nice art and animation on the tanks.

And nice to see it in subtitles, not only are they closer to the original Japanese but I can turn down the volume of the squeaky voices. I haven't known many Japanese/American girls but no Korean or Chinese/American girl I've ever known sounded like that...

Still again thanks for the post, I watched the first two clips and will give the rest a try when I get time!
