I find it hard to believe that this is the original paint. Why is there no equipment labelling? Would the Germans really splash paint on a periscope's glass?

Even if it IS paint,(??) that's only the second picture---it may as well be dust, or some other kind of reflection off the glass? I would say that the first picture pretty convincingly shows a white tone, yellowed only from age. And the linked photo shows a definite whitish shade which contrasts directly with the tan exterior.

There are actually quite a few of good clear shots of Sturmtiger interiors on the net--in none of them can I find equipment labeling. And such a small area in the photograph is undoubtedly too small to make a judgment of there being *no* labels. But take this one for instance:

I can't see labels where clearly one would expect them to be? Then again, perhaps they weren't labeled in this vehicle; who knows for sure?

Carl, I've seen some pics of a Sturmy interior, and I would say that the color leans much more toward white, with maybe a wash of raw umber to give it some tone? For discussion purposes only, I paste this photo:

Wouldn't you agree? Especially if you're going to put down any wash over it for definition--your buff is going to get dark. In the closed-up shadows of the model, especially in scale affect, you're going to perhaps wish that you went more toward white?

If you look at this link of the Munster Sturmy, and compare the interior with the exterior, I would say you'd be hard-pressed to argue that it isn't a more white color.

Here's some progress on the interior . The base color is MM panzer interior buff . In some areas I cut the buff with MM antique white to lighten it .

Thanks for looking in Karl . I used c.a. but I'm not satisfied with its ability to hold p.e. very well .Epoxy would probably hold better but I'm not sure about its curing rate or thickness . What do you use ?

I'm recently returning to modeling and am learning a lot by reading forums and watching videos on YouTube from others. That being said...

I've started a build on a Dragon 1/35 M1A1 AIM. Super fun and detailed kit.

It's my first kit w/ pe parts, and the more I read/researched, I decided to go all out with additional pe parts and interior resin kits for all the crew stations and the engine kit (I crewed 1 in real life and wanted to put in everything I remember inside and out).

Now the question!

With all that detailed work you are doing INSIDE, how do you intend to display it. If you button t up, it would never be seen I imagine.  Do you plan to leave some of the exterior removable? What is your plan? What advice can you give me? I've been toying with the idea of leaving the tops unglued, perhaps, but am still searching for ideas.

Holy crap! That interior is amazing! I was going to say, don't start this kit until you get some kind of AM interior to augment the nice partial that they give you---but that looks like it's all you need. Cool!

I've always wanted to see how that PE zimm looks, too. I"ve got a few of those kits, and I wanted to see what they look like on the model. What are you using to attach it? Epoxy? Or superglue?

Eric , the Big Ed set has pe zimm so I used it . The fit was good actually . I think your correct about all of these having zimm .
