RBaer Old school is good, looks good. I happen to use the same method.....

So many products out there, but I still cling to the old ways.
Gamera Terry, I'm really liking the results you're getting there! So it's just a wash with brown and yellow pigments added?

Yes it's pastel chalk powder added to mineral spirits(yeah I know old school).

Weathering wheels. I started with a brown powder wash(let dry) then added a dark yellow powder wash to the wheel centers. When dry blended these together with a soft brush. Added a mars black oil wash to wheel tires. When dry sealed with enamel flat clear.
The weathering continues with a light dusting of brown pastel powder and then sealed again with clear flat enamel.
r13b20 I don't know from accuracy, but that wash did liven up the piece for sure! Bob P.S. the "accuracy" comment is about MY lack of it, not anything done here!

Gamera Again she's looking great Terrry! Sorry I can't offer anything but generic compliments but everything just good, can't single any one thing out.

Let's weather the turret! I added some pastel powder suspended mineral spirits. Applied some streaking with oil paint. Added some minor chipping with Tamiya NATO Black. Sealed the whole thing with Model Master flat enamel. Terry
Sounds good to me. I look forward to more.
stikpusher Looking real good so far! I might suggest some sort of weathering to the turret markings to blend them in and show the texture beneath. Perhaps some sort of wash and/or dry brushing?

Thanks for the suggestion! Those things are coming. I take a rather slow and subtle approach to weathering working in several layers. It will begin to show pretty soon.
I did some detail painting and added the decals to the hull. I am being careful not to weather too much at a time trying to capture that peacetime/cold war look. Did a little then a coat of future. Ready for the next phase. "TRACKS"Terry
Gamera Yeah, the variations in the olive drab look good!

Thanks Pawel! Trying to get that dark olive color without it being boring.
All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Did some paint work on the hull. I believe the paint matches.Terry
I added the remainder of the details to the hull and did some wiring along the way.
Wiring conduit.
Attaching the wire leads to the headlights.
Installing the headlight assembly.
Left side assembly.
Tools and other details.
Great conversation!
Markings are on and turret is ready for final weathering. Now I can set this aside and finish up the lower part of the tank.Terry
The good old Grease Gun is like Ma Deuce... Gonna be around for a LONG time... Rob, did that 88 have the Grease Gun or was out of the inventory by '04?
Our maintenance people had them as well. Bob
We still had M3 Grease Guns in 1990. It was a component of end item on M48/M60 based vehicles like the M88A1, M728 CEV and M60 AVLB into the 1990s. Still had a mount for them in a brand new M88A1 I received around 2004.
