On thing to note is that USMC supply is occasionally different than US Army.  From those photos, I'm sure those depict the USMC sand-coloroed plastic 20L cans.  Those cans have a single handle on top, but between 'squarish" supports, and not angular like the IDF cans.  The USMC can has a huge (like 100mm) main cap with a smaller 10-12mm "pouring" cap set in the larger cap.

I have one of those cans in my collection of stuff.  A legacy of spending 26 years within the reach of gulf coast hurricanes, I actually have an OD USMC marked water can, a Blue one (before that was standardized as diesel), and the tan one.

I've seen the cans stacked like the photos show, I'm just glad I never had to heave 20 kilos of water and can and lash it together like that.

Still a beautful model.  Almost can smell the grease and the burnt diesel.

The US Army and USMC water cans are the same, no different.  The one in question is not a US water can, but Israeli.  MrT already said he mistakenly substituted it from an Academy set.

Beautiful job on the oldie kit, Terry. It's still one of my favorites, even though the AFV Club kit is such a gem.

From the very first sentence in the first post...

Arty,

With respect, I asked because there are at least two different 1/35 Tamiya kits of the M60A1, kits #35157 and 25166.  Although his model appears to be the US Marine Corps version with the reactive armor, he could have used 25166 as the base, adding aftermarket products and spares from other kits.  It is a fair question.

I figured the "out of the box" part would rule out the ancient M60A1 kit that has different road wheels, different air cleaners, etc... To me, out of the box implies no other added AM parts.

Whatever.  I asked an honest question based upon a misunderstanding on my part.  I rarely build tanks and know little of these specific kits.  Hence, my question, if that is okay.

Either way, MrT, you achieved a great model!

After some minor but somewhat glaring mistakes have been pointed out to me on here and other modeling sites I have gone back over the M60 and either covered or corrected some of those mistakes.  I know the ruck sacks my be wrong, but I left them on because I like them and to please the Infantry that maybe just maybe Marine tankers might have to get down and walk.  So here is the updated version of the M60A1.

Thanks for looking  Smile

Nice build!  I love the attention to detail (5-gallon bucket, etc.).   Based on the comments,  I will have to go back and fix some errors on my Abrams.  Definitely adding ths to the stash soon.

Outstanding job on your build. The paint and detail are top notch! Thank you for sharing your build. Look forward to your next one. If all possible....could you do a WiP on your next armor build. I could definitely learn something's from you.
