D,

I forgot to ask you....but what did you use for the rope holding down the bed rolls? It looks great.

Well you've jumped way ahead of the curve with this one, beautifully rendered.

Thank you.  Still lots to learn, like battle damage, but I think I am starting to get the basics down.

Very nice work, nice clean paint job. Now you need to have about twenty guys hanging on for the ride.

Thank you.  Yup, I need to learn how to do figures.  Gonna need some help on that, but there are lots of threads to nudge me along.

D,

I forgot to ask you....but what did you use for the rope holding down the bed rolls? It looks great.

That is scale rope from a company called Syren.  GMorrison gave me a link to the site.  If you look further down to the techniques heading, I think, there is a thread called "making and painting scale rope", and the link is in the thread.  It really is a quality item.  Used by the ship guys for rigging.

Your T34 came out great. Like the paint and tracks. The rope added the perfect finishing  touch.

Thank you, I appreciate it.  A few more of these and I will be ready for more complicated camo schemes, and maybe even tackle one of the Dragon kits I purchased.

Dwayne, This is a fine build of armor. Great job!!

I'm not too convinced I'll conquer the armor weathering/finishing learning curve as well or as quickly as you obviously have. I've broken some parts and am waiting for Tamiya to get a fret in stock so I can order it. Several more weeks of patience ..... Hmm.

Thank you kindly.  I still haven't tackled PE, so I have that to look forward to.  I have several older Tamiya armor models to practice weathering on until I tackle the more involved models.  Good luck with the patience....not my strong suit.

This is a close up of the barrel.  Hey Mike Brindos, I used Tamiya Weatherline to darken the barrel so it doesn't look like a burnt match stick.  Much more subtle, and looks much better than my first attempt.  Thank you for that suggestion.

You're more than welcome, D. It does look good! Not too much and not too little.

As far as your oil concerns, subtle is best anyways and I think you nailed it!

This is one good looking T-34!

Thanks Mike, Chad and Gamera.  Pleased to have received my first GB badge with this build.  I received lots of help with this build from the GB guys and forum members.  Too many to list.  Some were direct suggestions, and some were from checking out WIP's, so you wouldn't even know you helped me out.

Thanks again for the encouragement and excellent suggestions!

Little late to comment....

I saw you say the plastic bedrolls did not conform well to the model. I would really recommend to try using kneadatite (aka green stuff). It's a 2 part epoxy and can be molded into great looking bags/tarps with creaseas. Use water to prevent it from sticking, and use a toothpick/xacto knife for creases. Mold it to shape of model where you're placing it, then brush paint the roll. Weather it up with pigments/drybrush and its good to go.

Also great work on the tracks, they seem very nicely weathered. It's subtle but looks very realistic!

Hey Kien, thanks for the comments.  I do like the tracks, and I know I can do better with the stowage.  I will be using either green stuff or tissue paper (or both) when doing stowage in the future.  These bedrolls came with the kit, and I had never tried painting stowage, so I thought I would give it a shot.  I thought it came out well for a first try, so popped them on knowing they wouldn't look quite right.

I have watched a couple of youtube vids on how to work with green stuff (I have some on my bench....unopened, but ready to use), and this is definitely a skill I want to learn.

Thanks again for the comments, and it seems we were thinking the same thing.  Big Smile

Sweet looking build D. Great job all around.

The bedrolls are really easy to make with rolled bathroom tissue, soaked with water thinned Elmers tinted with Craft acrylics and a little imagination.
