Nice work Karl. This is looking good so far. Just enough PE to keep it a fun build.

Thanks for the WIP thread.

Hey everyone,

Well, I'm getting back to this project--I had to do a model for the magazine; a request for a special issue, and I have to keep it under wraps, but now I'm back on this pig. I've got some paint on it: I started with Duplicolor grey primer, and then a base shadow coat of blackish-brown, mixed from Tamiya paint.

After that, straight Tamiya Dark yellow

Notice that I'm leaving brown "shadows" around the edges--trying something different. I did this with my 1/72 Sturmtiger and it looked great. I want to see how it will look on a fullsize model...

The paint on the wheels was concentrated in the middle of them or around the disc, depending on the wheel.

Then a lightening coat of Buff+WHite. This is NOT the whitewash coat yet..

Tamiya Field Grey for camo....

Then yellow+white added and the camo is highlighted.

Next, filters of Yellow oil and Adam Wilder's "Bright Green Filter" are added to the respective colors to add tone and variety..

The brown outline/shadow was then re-emphasized.

That's where I am for the monent....hopefully I'll get some more pics soon. Thanks for following guys, and forgive me for being so absent from the forums. I miss the interaction here, but life has been quite relentless lately. Indifferent

I like where you are going with this one Karl. It's really looking great! I've seen you mention Wilder products before, how do you like them? I'm very tempted to pick up a couple of his products and try them out.

Looking good Karl. I hope the detour for the magazine means it’ll be in An issue sooner rather than later.
