I just gave it a light weathering and now putting to nifty decals on. TON of Sol set to get those decals to sit in my hand done over sized zim but I like it.

The National Guard used to put on static displays every year when I was a kid. I don't suspect it can be done these days, but at the time they were wide open and we could climb all over the tanks and other toys. I always looked forward to that because I thought the tanks were so cool.

But then I learned about AIRPLANES! Cool [8D]

I have this fear of having anything shut over my head that goes "Clang" Smile [:)]

I prefer clear skies to mud. I prefer wings to tracks. I like my boots clean. I prefer meals in the mess to MRE's. I like having someone else work on my plane. I'm scared of the dark! And all the other pilot vs. driver sayings.

I would like to build a tank some day though. Can't tell one from the the other, but my step father was a tank commander with Patton in WWII and I'd like to do one in his memory sometime.

Woodbeck, I know you have heard about lightening the color, but I'm one who never has. I just thin the base and shoot. By the time you weather, you'll never know.

Well I am stupid tonight. I took my sand color and added some white I just bought today. near 90/10 on the ratio. started swirling and mixing it and the white kept rising to the top. Hmmmm mix it some more so I did. Rose to the top again. What the heck?? Looked at my bootles and I was mixing emamel white to my acrylic dunkercolor. Siiiigggh. So ok I found something to shoot it in because I didnt have much and pulled the trigger...alotta air but no mixed up paint...the stuff gummed in my soon to be retired aztek Angry [:(!]

. So instead of try to work it out I threw away that tip and put in the wide spray tip... grabbed the dunklecolor and shot the whole thing over including wheels...straight color thinned with water. Covered it all in Future and started a light weather job on it. My tiger has gone from seen alotta action to Just getting there...but I saved it.

Man!!!

ok I am just going to do only dunklewhatever (the dark yellow) and really weather it..I like weathering.
The Challanger is Tamiya and I might find another kit do our persoanl backwards build with because I would have to wait too long to save up for it.

The new Tamiya would probably be the better of the two, but it will cost more. If you order online, you can save quite a bit. I've found that it pays to pay a bit more for a refined kit. I wasn't impressed with the fit on my Trumpeter M1 Abrams.

The lates were almost exclusively Dunkelgelb from the factory. The camo was sprayed on by the crews or maintence platoon that received them. You'll find variation between different Abteilungen as well as unique interpretations of 'guidelines'. I have seen some pics of whitewashes that were in streaks that spelled out girlfriends names.

What color is the Tiger 1 late anyways. My kit instructions shows a really Censored [censored]

up camo look, but references show also a solid, albeit well weathered sandy color on others? If I do a single color weathered will I be historically corect??

After doing zim and upcoming indy tracks I am not really wanting to do a complicated splotchy camo on it.

well I can't wait til July 2nd and decided what my soon to be retired aztek can do. I started to spray the redbrown color of the camo on the wheels over the future lastnight. The aztek did great for about 5 minutes then the acrylic started to dry on that darned internal needle screw in thingy aztek thinks they are famous for and it started to spray in 2 direction...at the same time and not one of those directions was at the model part so I got the tip thing sitting in water trying to sorften that stuff up. I like the colors...gonna lok good when i get a real AB to finish it with.

No noticable disturbances between the future with acrylic over it or between the MM and tamiya acrylics so if ya didnt already know, seems to work ok.

Eesh Jeff, that bites. I know that feeling, I painted all of one camo, cleaned it up, put it away, and realized I missed an obvious spot. To be honest I haven't tried the future deal yet, but will be soon. I don't see why you can't and I don't think mixing paints should be a problem either.

Ummmm...ok. I painted on my basecoat of MM Acr. Panzer DunkerGelb on everything and it looks good. I then painted the wheels which are still on the sprue and they look good and I am thinking wow they are gonna look good weathered and I was feeling pretty proud of myself. Figured out how I am gonna do the camo because I bought the paint today but messed up one color...have plenty of dark gray for that 190 cockpit now ( stupid german words Angry [:(!]

), and I am waiting on my new Omni4000G from badger and pressure reg from my lhs. But I then figure heck I can weather the wheels right so I shoot them with some future and now letting that set over night. But, I then remember I gotta camo them too Evil [}:)]

. So can I spray acrylic over future after it set to camo them?

Can I spray Tamiya Color Acrylic over Model Master Acrylics?

Hmmm......you're scaring me a bit on the Hasegawa kit, is it difficult? I also have a 1/72 Nick, also made by Hasegawa. Ohhhh.....the questions I'll be asking. Shall we set up a direct line like Washington-Moscow? Perhaps we could post in the plane build and everyone can benefit? There was another build in August. I may try both.

Yeah nmf is all in the prep bro, you can do it. Careful prep equals good results. Early I wouldn't suggest doing an early hasegawa kit yet tho. If ya can go buy a new one...in 1:48 scale. They have a sweet "razorback" one out. "littlechief" is what its called. I would suggest you get some Tanex7 liquid cement to build it with as it will make any small seams disappear.
How do i post links here I will give ya some reference for it as far as colors and stuff go.

That date is fine...I have 3 group builds going...all on hold waiting my new Omni4000 gravityfed and pressure regulater for my Testors miniblue Comp. So let me get my equipment issue resolved and we'll do this. I would suggest not joining anymore GB's til we finish. Sound cool to you?
