Jeff, how about July 11 or 12th. I'm right in the middle of a group build, so I won't have as much time as would like to devote to my first "true aircraft".

Bill it's a Hasegawa kit. I think all that I have heard about NMF, scares me off right now. When I have more time to devote than I'll try that kit.

Gee, Eric, I figured you'd have him going after you're Hasagewa P-47. What brand of kit is the 84?? I'm sure you've said, but I can't remember.

Cool now I have a reason to get that challenger I saw. So lets say 2 weeks (July 9th or so). I need to finish my monogram build too. Work for you?

Skeered, am I? I may have to send my fellow treadheads to your house. Evil [}:)] Clown [:o)] Well, like Mike said, I now have the proverbial kick in the tush to accept your dual of CA and Squadron putty. I figure if your willing to try indy tracks, I should be able to glue a prop and some wings together.

Ausf, a Ki-84 is a sleek Japanese fighter that was regarded by some as their best produced. Since it fought in the Pacific it might look good under a Sherman's or Stuarts track marks. Oh, I will pay for this one. Hehehe.

I don't even know what a Ki-84 is but I bet it would look nice with some track marks all over it.
We're with ya Tigerman. Or behind you. Or better you than me.

Yowza! How did I get myself into this bind. Confused [%-)] I feel the Dark Side putting a proverbial boot in my tush. I might be game. Like I said in the Plane Build, I have that Ki-84 that I have been meaning to get building on.

Sounds like a potential cage match to me. The Revell Mustang kit practically builds itself. Good choice for an armor guy to start with.

Me young. Blush [:I] I wish! You did forget to mention the purr of a Spitfires Merlin or a T-Bolts blazing 50 cals bursting anything in its path. The roar of a Junker's 87 as it dives is quite unforgettable as well. I have nothing against wingy things, just can't build a good one.

Point taken Jeff, but you never get over the emotional scarring of brush painting a P-47 silver for a NMF. Black Eye [B)] People talk about shooting old models with air rifles; I would not have wasted the ammo on mine. The Darkside has me. It is .... too .... late for .... me ...... Jeff.

By the way I have about as much idea as anyone what a Phroosh is. I do answer to it though. I have had many worse nicknames.Black Eye [B)]

ok now that's outta my system. I like it!!. I am using squadron's white putty thinned with acetone spread on kinda think. Let it set a second then I took 2 flat toothpicks sanded them even and superglued them together. Once I got my fingers unglued from them I "stick" the putty and make the pattern. I let it setup then lightly sand the peaks off. It's too thick to scale but this being my first tank and first time free handing Zim I am VERY happy with the results. Even my wife who could not care less about my models noticed this one, wanting to know what the "white goop" is. I explained to her its called Zimmerit and the german applied it too keep...." and thats as far as I got before she shrugged and walked away Approve [^].

OK OK I admit I like modeling tanks and will model more.... but never underestimate the power of the lightside because my first love is planes...but that challenger I saw might be next Blush [:I].

Another member has seen the power of the Dark Side, realizes there is no turning back. We stil have more work to be done, more members to convert. Muhahahahahaha Evil [}:)]

Hey!!! Its on there and staying on there for better or worst Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]. Its looks fine except its a tad big for scale but I am making sure its consistant all the way around and I blew the back completely, looking roughed up and not zimmed so I sanded it down and left it. I know better then to try to correct it at this point. All the locator holes drove me up the wall. My next one (can't believe I just said that) will be applied with better tools, not ones I created for it so I can get better scale results. But, I am happy with my first attempt. Ok wheres the nmf birds at?

ausf think of it this way. the more you put into this the better it will look. then again to do a nmf on your first a/c build, someone told me, is like doing zimmerit on your first tank. Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]
