Who builds 1/72 armor out there

Frosty,

I've got an article about a Mk3 in desert scheme. The article shows where the changes have got to be made to the 1/72 Revell kit. Does not seem like a very hard conversion at all. I could scan and e-mail if you want.

Other than that, I'm sure I've seen some green ones with white winter scheme in the Balkans... but where dd I see that!?

thanks for the reply... i 'd be happy to check out Mk3 in desert color(s), and the green/white winter scheme sounds good too. i just want to do everything rite away, the hardest part is figuring out what to do next ! unlimited ambition and imagination, limited time, $ and skills (but trying to get better)...someday i'll make something worth taking a picture of !

I'm just getting back into modeling after many years. I haven't built a model since the mid-80's. I love 1/35 armor but the size and space is required is hard to deal with. I would love to start with 1/72 scale but need some advice.

What brands do you find have the most detail and challenge to build?

there cheap fun and easy to buils not mention good to make diorahms out of them

if any u guys have tips im kinda new it wouls be apprecates

there fun and easy to biud not to mention budget freindly, plus u can make small tank sqaudrons or companys. Anyone got some tips out there for whetherin comaflauging, or biulding dioramns for them

I'm sorry dj! For some reason, they show up in the preview and they post okay, but then when I log out then log back in, it's all red X's! I don't get it! I followed the directions about using (without the spaces)and yet it hasn't been working. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that my pics are posted in my Yahoo Briefcase?

Yeah, I just got started in the 1/72 thing. Its great for dioramas and saves space. In some cases it might be hard to detail or weather becase of its size, though. Also, there is a lack of detail sets. Oh well, nothin' like beatin' the crap out of a detail set with some scratch building, eh? A little elbow grease can do a lot. I'm currently working on a Revell of Germany Bradley, I think its the same one as allan's. Good luck with your future 1/72 and other models.

airfix is a good company accept for those announg tracks though i just finisded theeir 75mm assualt gun . it looks great

I am also a BIG FAN of 1-72 armour. I recently entered a 1-72 scale of a British Cruiser Mk3 which won first place at a local contest.

My favourite kit maker is Hasegawa. I really trust the quality of their kits. I like the quality of 1-72 aircraft from Airfix, but I am wondering how good the quality of their kits are.

When I first got back into modeling after about 20 plus years, the first kit I built was Hasegawa's 1/72 Tiger I.

I'm hoping the picture shows up here, but if not, there's a photo of it at the Webshots address below. For size comparison it's next to a model of PT-109 also in 1/72. I opened up the side hatch on the turret and changed the commanders hatch to the later version.

Yeah, good old Revell. The one in the photo is my second 109, which was more accurately detailed than the first. I still have another in the box, though, which won't end up as the 109.

nice boats. wish I would have thought about doing something with the torpedo tubes, but hey it was my first model. completely box-stock. cept for flag is gone and one of the big side decals broke, so I put the one straight on the front. forget me telling you I should just put a pic on.
