very nicely done... love the texturing job you did, subtle and effective.. look forward to the paint portion, keep us posted! thanks for sharing

Being the Sherman fan that I am, how could I not reply to your post. I'm liking the extra texture you're adding. It's needed and you're doing it very well. Please keep us in mind when you're done with it.   Gary

Hello All,

Here is my 1st armor model in some time, Tamiya's 1/35 Sherman. I am aware of the kit's short comings and the intent was not to build the end all 100% correct Sherman. I am almost ready to paintSmile [:)].

I have added more texture to the turret and front transmission cover with thinned Tamiya putty. (oh and the exhaust pipes seen above)

 

One the errors of the kit I could not let go was the fender braces......I could not just glue the wood plank between the fenders just floating in mid air, so I added styrene brackets to hold the plank. I used tape to measure the exact distance fron the edge of the fender so both brackets would hold the plank level.

 

Final shot....more texture.
