Hey Guys. I am normally a bike builder and more to the point a Rossi fan of note (virtually only build Rossi 1:12 versions). As a departure I have just started a 1:24 2006 WRC Corolla that Rossi raced, using the Studio27 decal set. Is this OK to include in this build? This is essentially my first ever car so be gentle Blush [:I]

Hey Bushpig!

Welcome to the wonderful world of 4 wheels! Nice to meet up again!  Trust me, if you can build bikes the wayI've seen you build them, this will be different but it you'll turn out a great kit! Exactly the same...

Mine may end up a bit of a laugh, but I'm doing it for the experience. In public eye, no less! Banged Head [banghead] Decided on the surgically altered version of the 03 206. Don't laugh too much, it will be an interesting tale, if nothing else...

Ok,

Im switching to the 2005 307 which only ran in 05.  Love the car but the kit is a bit basic so will put some goodies on it.

Me too, ready to go... May completely bugger up my attempt, but it's all in the spirit of learning and growing as a modeler. Whistling [:-^]

So I assume we got going today??? I would like to kick off with a technical question for you 4 wheel guru's out there. The last (and only ever) car model I did I just could not get the rubber seals around the windows done to my satisfaction, I tried masking tape and spraying, paint brush by hand, maskol and spray etc. None of which gave a good result. So how do you guys get a great looking rubber seal round the glasswork?

Ive always used Tamiya tape and a flat color ( black ) and dont seem to have any problems.  I like the flat because it tends not to run....

And yes its a go Ill get going on mine in a day or two

For windows I've had pretty good luck with masking tape and running a brush of Future along the edge to reduce bleeding under the tape. I also dip my "glass in Future before starting since it helps protect the plastic and fixes any small scratches.

I'll be doing a Hasegawa Lancia Stratos for the build.

Ok, I haven't been able to start yet but I thought I would share pictures of the kit. All I have really managed to do was go through all the sprues and verify no missing parts.

Does.... ehhhrrr.... moving the box from the.... ehhhrrr.... to-be-built pile to the busy-with pile count? Whistling [:-^] In which case I'm going strongly!

Have a valid excuse, though. My daughter's turning 3 tomorrow and last week we had preps for last Sat's birthday party - and of course then there can't be "nothing" tomorrow. So I'll catch you real soon!

I painted the body white over the weekend, so I guess I'm started. All these decals should be fun once I get to that point.

OK. I didn´t get that model what I was planning to build (read: My wife didn´t let me spent 150 € to a car modelClown [:o)]) so I had to deal with this:

I´m moving my modeling workshop to another room just now, so it might take for a while to get started.

Okay, confession-time... I spent some time doing planning, making notes, etc. There's some PE, the SMS carbon decal set and some resin. Just trying to get (some of) the ducks lineary aligned.

Biggest problem - I knew the one door was damaged, but couldn't recall which. But it's the one I wanted to open, the driver-side door. Not much sense opening the other one. And it's pretty much FUBAR. So I will do the rest, but not opening the door.

After the Dakar I felt like changing to Giniel's Nissan (in 43rd), but will stick to the Pug. Will start actual work shortly!

I have surprised myself and am making good progress so far. Have pretty much finished the interior (I think) and have primed and sprayed the body parts. I think the only change I would have made so far would be to replace the decal seat belts with either scratch built or an aftermarket set.

Here are a few I've knocked out recently, I think I've got another Revell Focus in the stash somewhere. The first two are Tamiya 1/24 Ford Focus and Puegeot 206, the third one is white metal 1/43rd Fiat Punto.(I can't remember the make)

Remember , common sense is not common.

Well it looks like we are doing the GB here, so here is my Lancia. I've got the body primered, painted and clear coated with Future.
