That's funny Lee, i just bought a 1:1 92 cbr600 f2 frame, pretty soon I'll switch scales!

Aoshima did a few Z750's, not too sure about the year though.

2 come to mind off-hand:
Z750FX Kai
Z750RS ZII Kai

But there will be more, they also did a few decent Zephyr's.

FWIW, they also just reissued the ol' coffin tank Z1R Kai, will be building mine as custom tuned.

Tamiya I think also had a Z model out but can't remember which one it was.

Hi Guys.

I am thinking of starting the build officialy on the 26th of this month, so everybody get ready to rip their boxes open and to get started.

On the 26th I will start a new thread entitled "Bimota Tesi 1D Group build", if anybody needs a site to host pics or similiar I got space on either of my 2 sites.

Any questions, tips or hints needed feel free to psot on the new thread, this one should disappear on the 26th.

got the metalizers done. Thinking of a one sided swing arm so i can rerout the cans underneath the seat...any thoughts on this?

Snow here to and just completed the movistar RC211. Just opened the Bitmota box to check out what i an going to need to paint . No custom work just paint scheme. I'm thinking red and black with chrome wheels? We'll see.

Jeez. I just got around to looking at the Bimota pic on the Tamiya website. Man, I wish I had one. Thats a nice looking bike!

I have started to prep a few pieces and get the supplies ready for the start.

My LHS will start a "get-rid-of-everything" sale this weekend, they are refurbishing the whole shop and closing the 2nd floor (I think).
Hence getting lots of supplies this weekend mesh hoses, hose connectors, etc.

My build will be mostly stock, no extensive conversions planned.

Started My BIMOTA today. Good day for building, snow outside. I am planning a race bike version with redone body work and custom paint. Will start posting as soon as i can..

Bassically everybody builds the same Kit, the build starts end of this month.

We have agreed on the Tamiya Bimota Tesi 1D kit, but since this seems to be the first Motorbike group Build here if you haven't got the Kit(older Item) you can build what you got available(Road bikes prefered).

Bassically we will keep up to date on how far everybody is and post in-progress shots too.

You can build the kit either box-stock or customise it, so far I think a few people will change colour scheme and maybe do a few conversions or "upgrade" things like hoses, etc.

In case you are new to Motorbike kits, there is another threa here started by me with many tips and techniques on how to build those kits.

That reminds me I need to add a few more tips in that I have found over the weekend.

What is this Group Build thing. Sounds cool. What happenes, everyone gets together and builds bikes or is there a date( like posted) when everyone starts building and sends pics. I've never heard of something like this. If its something I can do here, and I get a digital camera, I'm game. I have a Hayabusa and a Telefonica Movistar (although a race bike). Lemme know how this works.

I'm in too. I've had a bimota in the closet for 8-10 years or so...

Many Bikers do that to give their Bikes a personal touch, at most Bike rallies you tend to see most bikes already customised or re-painted.
Still drooling over the ZZR that was put inside a harris frame, conversion parts cost more than the whole bike new.

Wind screens on Biks tend to crack fairly easily and it is common to see AM or even coloured/tinted windscreens on newish Bikes.

I have seen a Blue/Red scheme but not sure if it was factory or not.
A Green/Red might also look cool.

By the look of it many don't put all the fairing on their Bikes as they fairing is pretty much fully closed and thus hides the details of the unique steering, frame, etc.

I would like to see some reference pics.

Tips for the newcomers to Motorbike Kits:

Start painting the drive chain early in the build, it will take some time to paint EVERY link seperate. Also check the Box-art and reference pics careful.

Also remember this is a group-build and not a competition so feel free to ask questions.

Metal parts for the Bimota assembly will need to be primed WHITE, be careful there are also a few plastic parts that will need the same treatment to get an uniform look.

2.) Sand them thinner to make them look better, reckon taking 1/3 off should do the trick.

After that I will start attacking the hydraulic tubes and similar to replace them with 0.5mm wires and 0.7mm tubing.

Headlight will get a light blue tint , windscreen will get a film transfer not decided yet if it be pearl or another darker effect to contrast with the Chrome yellow.

So, everyone set for beginning of February or are some people still waiting for their Bimotas and other Bike Kits.

Got my Bimota layed out, drill & sandpaper ready for the brake discs, but mine will be painted slightly different from the Factory scheme.
Instead of Red/White mine will be Red/Chrome yellow and some other touches added too.

For most part I either brush-paint or use a rattle-can.

Getting ready to paint my RC211 and thinking about using an air brush.

Do most of you builders use airbrushs?

Even on a small paint job like a motorcycle.

You will need the URL for the Image, ie the location where it is on the Net and than surround it with ["img"]["/img"] tags.
DON'T put the " into it, sorry mucked up when I was posting it.

Easiest is to choose the "Insert Image Button"(4th from the right) in the reply window and than insert the URL.

Another way i simply to put the URL into the text and it will become a link to the image.
