got a few more parts glued on the chassis

got it decaled today, and I laid on a few coats of clear to. 
it still needs to be wet sanded and polished out in a few days.

man I love the krylon clear, I sprayed it about 2 hours ago and its nice and hard now. so I wet sanded and polished the body.

I use 2000 grit then the two compounds in the pic.



hard to show glossiness on white paint lol hopefully the reflections show up.

Can I bug you again to answer a couple of questions?

The Krylon "Clear"--you can put that safely over decals and not have it craze or krinkle them? IS there anything you do to assure that that doesn't happen?

And that "red" you used looks the same as David Pearson's "Purolator" car #21 that I want to build--what did you use for that color?

I never had any problems with this clear thats why i use it for everything!  I always do 2 really mist coats first and leave it alone.  then come back with normal coat ,

for the red I used, Honda claret red from dupli color.

Very nice James.  You've done an outstanding job on this one.  Makes me wish that Polar Lights was still marketing this kit.  And thanks for the tip about Krylon "Clear"....I'll have to pick up a can.

I made a helmet to place on the seat

This is some incredible attention to detail.

I love how you casually say, "I made a helmet to go on the seat," like it's no big deal. Some of us are lucky to end up with something resembling a seat.
