would love to buy one of your fuselages I'am building a Combat Models C-46 right now just finished a combat Hudson,so I know all about ruff contact info rpm1947atyahoo.com
Doesn't seem like it's been that long. Other projects and LIFE just got in the way.
On the workbench:
Lockheed SR-91 Aurora (What If) actually using a bit of the C-75 fuselage for this one !!
Boeing C-75
Howard UC-70
Curtiss A-1 Triad (first naval airplane)
I am doing WIP photos on all, but will not start posting until I'm sure I'll finish the model.
Hello!
I'm glad you're movin' on with this one! Did you notice it took you exactly on e year, to the day, to reply to my previous comment? The fuselage is impressive. Now I wonder how you will do the windows! Good luck with this project, have a nice day
Paweł
All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Your timing is amazing, due to getting a couple of commision jobs I have had to put this one on hold. I just pulled it out to get it started back up last week. I have formed a couple of sets of fuselages and have decided to go with a thicker plastic. Usually have to make a choice to mold thin enough to capture all the detail and curve of a subject. In this case there isn't any. So now I'm waiting for the thicker styrene sheets to arrive. I'll post some pics later in the week.
Hey Hawkeye, any progress on this? I finally track down a set of those plans! Only took a year! Still interested in a couple of those fuselodges.
rudder extensions added
engines and cowlings
Pic 1 - fuselage mold turned on a lathe by one of my fellow modellers.
Pic 2 - End forms from .060 styrene, to get the proper contour
Pic 3 - fuselage mold sanded and primed, ready for vacuforming.
Pic 4 & 5 - Getting an idea of what it will look like. If you haven't guessed this dude is going to be BIG !!!
Just can't wait to see that big shell formed! Have a nice day

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll be moving on to the fuselage next.
Yeah, that's interesting - before you started the project I thought "new fuselage with everything else from the B-17". Now I see how many things need to be changed. And you do it just fine. So good luck - I look forward to see it done, and have a nice day
This is getting better and better!
Finishing up the slots. Still need a bit of putty and another sanding, but you get the idea
Looks like your coming along nicely.
Using the Monogram DC-3 cowling kit parts I pulled four shortened versions on the Mattel vacuform.
pic 1 - piece of plan for general layout
pic 2 - cut out
pic 3 - piece of quarter round added for duct look, markied for brace positions
pics 4 & 5 - braces added
pic 1 - repositioning the rudder trim tab
pic 2 - insert for rudder extension added. The 307s rudder was much longer and with an extra hinge.
Anti-stall slots sounds better. My Boeing cutaways book calls them cooling air exhaust slots, but that just didn't sound right especailly since they go all the way through the wing.
I believe you are referring to the anti-stall slots and they will definitely have to be added, they are very distinctive. Stay tuned I'll post pics.
Do you plan on putting in the cooling air outlet slots at the end of each wing? Kinda curious how one would do that.
pic 1 - upper wing sanded and primed
pic 2 - tail buildup. Will need to be re-contoured slightly.
Pic 1 - upper wing sanded and primed.
Pic 2 & 3 - making the elevator actuator housings (4 needed)
I would be willing to sell a vac fuselage, it will be VERY ROUGH though. Wait 'til I get a pic posted and you can decide.
This is great! I wish someone would make an actual kit of the 307 in 48 scale. Interested in selling a kit? I'd buy a couple.
Great job, will be following this one with interest. Which I had the skills to do this, as I've always wanted a 307.
In pic 1 at the bottom you can see the modified T-6 cowling that I am going to use as a vac mold to make the 4 cowlings. The props will be modified from the kit props.
What do you plan on using for the engine cowlings and the propellers since you are using the F as the basic structure to build off of.
WIP: Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo
Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea
Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group
Pic 1 - puttyed up horizontal stabilizer
Pic 2 - basic layout
Pic 3 - sanding off panel lines
Pic 1 - Backing added to hold putty filler. The 307 had only one vent on the leading edge.
Pics 2 & 3 - Adding styrene sheet former to extend the horizontal stabilizers.
I will need to build a new larger frame to hold the plastic, but that will be no problem, just $7 at the hardware store..
Reporting to the moved thread! Nice machine. I built similar one years ago, but only did a few canopies on it, otherwise it just sits there unused - kinda pity. But still it COULD be used when the need comes. Question is: is your machine going to handle a fuselage that big? That boeing is pretty hefty in 1/48. Anyhow, I'll be watching, good luck and have a nice day
