Thanks model! Smile [:)]

I think I caught a few people checking it out, and at least one person took a picture of it, camo found it down in the IPMS section on here. I wasn't planning on placing to be honest, as you, camo and a few others have said, it's not a WW2 German subject Tongue [:P]

One thing I did notice and pick up on though, a lot of the tanks, vehicles, planes, even some figures, looked like they were airbrushed they were so smooth and the paint looked like it didn't even make an impact to the thickness of the piece at all, that stuff was smooth and just as crisp as the brand new resin cast. It was amazing.

Sounds like good advice though, it wont be my last show, that's for sure.

Good for you psst! I'm glad that you had a great time. Even though you may not have placed, I guarantee that you earned some Ooos & Ahhhs. For me at least, shows aren't about winning, they're about looking at other people's work and trying to figure out "how in the hell did they do that!" .... it gives me pointers for future projects (which at the moment, I'm failing to work on!?!)

Glad you had a good time/ experience with your first show. Don't get too wrapped up around the competition part and you'll have a great time, every time.

Congrats again one getting out there....

Just a last update for now, entered these two into the IPMS Modelpalooza 2009 yesterday (and camo managed to find pictures already!). While they didn't place, they were up against some amazing looking figures- everything from WW2 American's and Germans, to Cowboys, Knights, even a 2 foot tall Clint Eastwood figure that looked just like the little wanted poster provided with him.

I had a great time, spent most of my day there, didn’t get any pictures unfortunately, however apparently they’re on the internet already- also! I got a great deal on the new 105mm Howitzer kit from Dragon, with the 4 Battle of the Bulge figures included in their winter dress. Not that I had a clear bench for a new project, I had however told redleg that I was planning on getting the kit a while back and had yet to find it online as they are all OOS etc. The kit I did pick up though saved me shipping and a few bucks off of the MSRP.

There was some amazing armor there, some of the airbrush work looks way too in scale, it’s unbelievable- in fact I’d sooner believe someone went back in time, stole a King Tiger from some Nazis, then shrunk it down to 1/35. I now know I’m going to have to put in a lot of work on my tanks, figure faces, and even dioramas to an extent. While I didn’t enter any dioramas (as I have non finished lol) I did get a chance to look at the winning (and 2nd/3rd place) dioramas and I feel as if with a little extra hard work and patience, that I could compete with them at least.

Anyway thanks again for checking these two out and following me through the long drawn-out WIP!

That's right Big Smile [:D]

i'm good to scratch and finish models but to paint figures (i scratched some 90mm from various themes with milliput) and make scenes is my weakness.

The difference and the difficult to paint figures is to give life to the pieces and you very able to do this.

For Camo junkie: really , my english is not so good and don't stand the sense of your phrase, only this Confused [%-)]

Thanks a lot Steve! No worries- it was definitely long in the making haha

Thanks for the critique- I'm thinking I'll add some brown/tan-ish sandy pastel dust when I get home in a few days, but figured it had reached "finished" enough to display it for a bit Tongue [:P]

Thanks for the wishes!!

Hmm, sounds good- I'll think about that, but the dirt around here looks like it might be closer to WWII than desert ground, depending on where in VA, it could almost be Vietnam mud! Too close too GA- but I'll think about that for my new Vietnam dio I'm doing!

Here's the final picture, all fancy and hi-res submission to FSM

Hey, nice job psst. Hey, if you have to, just go outside and sift some dirt to get you some nice weathering powder. Don't laugh ... it works! What do you think I use to weather when I'm deployed!!! Actually, I just leave it sitting on the shelf for a week or two .... and poof! Perfect dust layer ... HAHAHAHAHAA!!!!
