Glad you liked it Tom, thanks a lot! If it's too busy for Scott I think it'd be cool to see you build something like that. I was thinking just a low crumbling cinder block wall kind of idea, but I liked your high wall corner better, wanted to draw it up because I couldn't explain what I was trying to say in words haha you know me

Hey camo if you have any other future concept ideas or dios you’re trying to think through, let me know. The drawing didn’t take long or anything and it’s another hobby of mine. If anything it might give you a second perspective. I know you’ve got your 9 month baby in the works but the offer stands.

yeah, i will keep that in mind. the funny thing is i kinda want to step away from that dio temporarily and do something small and simple like your drawing. i think i will use my "blackwater" figure (n.w.m.). why dont ya draw up something like ya did but using that figure.

That's a good idea and I like the wall idea, but I want to shy away from something that's either just as tall or bigger than the figure itself. I want this to be a simple stand alone figure and not a vinette.

I might using something similar to your drawing, but using the crumbling wall idea instead. Plus the base that I'm using is square and not round.

The base as it is right now is a 2" cube w/ a slightly bigger, 1/4" tall step on the bottom. The 2" cube is the perfect size for the coin and just big enough to give the figure something to stand on plus a LITTLE extra.

We'll see what I come up with.

i wouldnt use that coin! unless you have spares. I think that figures that show a little to a lot of movement, should always have a little viginette. Maybe the same thing as psst, but maybe smaller, and facing the other way. If it's a "poser" pose, or just standing there, a coin would be a good idea.

you could still do the wall with a 2"sq. stand but i understand. maybe then a 1/10th humvee. Whistling [:-^]. so let me see if i understand completely, the figure will be "standing" on the coin?? or will the coin just be in the base? ok, when i reread this, i think your saying you want to put the coin on the base, and leave a little extra room for the figure and whatever else u put in there.

not sure what to do for ya as all my ideas would turn it into a vinette. maybe just a couple tuffs of grass at his feet or something. Confused [%-)]

Grim - Don't worry about the coin. It was something that I picked up on ebay just for this build.

Camo - Your getting close. I've always liked how "Maki" makes his final presenations clean with attaching coins. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. (I don't think he would mind me showing off a little of his stuff.)

My base will be a little small/ tighter around the coin so it will stand out just a little more. But I think you get the idea ....

And NO psst ... you can't use this coin for our sniper "build off". I already call it .... plus I've already ordered it! ...

Dang .... guess this means that I'm getting closer to that one ...

Any-who!!!

Yeah, that's 1/16-1/15, the build up is over on Armorama I believe. Sign - Ditto [#ditto] on the ACU, very nice job. And ok fiiine Scott, don't worry, I won't use that coin Sad [:(]

But yeah, I hear what you're saying now, I think you could fit a little bit of wall into a base idea like that. I think it should look pretty good. Thumbs Up [tup]

***UPDATE***
So, I was getting ready to take this one back to the booth for its dull coat when I remembered that I needed to put on a radio mic to go w/ the headset seen under the helmet ... no biggie, I just add a small piece of wire and POOF it was done ... But not so fast.
I got to looking, and I realized that this figure doesn't come w/ a radio! How odd!?! Just one of those little things that got over-looked I guess. So, I decided to use one of the radios from the Dragon Delta kit. It looks pretty close to what we carried in Iraq, so I figured it would work. Coiled some fine wire, attached the radio and away we go... (I'll be painting the radio black w/ black wiring, but the radio pouch will be OD.)
Anyway, here's some pics of the added radio...
The base is complete, just curing ... I'll take pics and post in the morning after I remove all the clamps, etc.
As always ... all C&C welcome.

Don't worry camo- it's a way off. Grimmo- welcome to the club!

MC- nice looking radio set up, also saw a glimps of the full color flag, very nice, does add some nice color (cant see the blue, but assuming it's looking good) and again, always a fan of the Calico Jack, nice spot on the back of the head Thumbs Up [tup]

Awww .... comm-on!!!! Its only like 3 or 4 ... ok maybe 5!?! But only 2 of them are started! Gimme SOME credit!!!

Chirs, haha, glad you caught the Calico Jack. I purposely didn't say anything just to see if you'd catch it.

As of now, the radio set-up is painted, the figure is complete (minus the dull coat) and the base is done. I'll be starting the groundwork/ wall/ i don't know what scenary in the morning. HOPEFULLY, this thing will done by lunch-time.

WOW!! Bow [bow] an amazing build- I like your wall in relation to the SEAL much better than what I had done in my drawing- your SEAL looks like he’s cautiously approaching an intersection or a courtyard etc. AND he's looking the viewer right in the face, really makes sense. The flag looks good. Nice stained wood, very professional base.

BTW the coin looks great!! I got one for my 1/35 snipers- don't worry, it's not the one with the cross hairs and the cool sniper sayings like yours. Just the vini vidi vici of Army sniper school- sorry I know- Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic] back to your great SEAL!!

Edit- he kind of looks like he's seen a ghost in that cortyard, interesting facial features... Shock [:O]

Hey thanks guys. I actually positioned him on the wall the way I did IOT hide a seam that I honestly didn't notice. How I missed it, I don't know. IT RAN THE LENGTH OF THE LEG!?!?! I guess I thought it was a seam in the pants, but after I got it painted I noticed that it traced up the pocket too ... bad joo-joo.

Yes, the wall was built from styrofoam. I actually just cut a corner off one of the building mock-ups I did for the "BoM" build. Slapped on some more spackle, scored out some bricks, respac .... well, just go back and read Camos "Hired Gun" to see how he did his wall. I even started with priming it black! So, thanks Camo!!!

I'm pretty proud of this one. Might be small, but besides the coin, the actual resin figure and airbrushing the base coat ... this was all scratched/ build by hand. Can't wait to take this one to the show in Sept.

If it doesn't metal, it's only because it's not a WWII German model- this is an amazing piece. I really think the wall does well to keep the figure half of this one balanced with the base, as they're both tall.

One thing's for sure- you’ll definitely be stumbling across pictures of it online, I’m sure everyone interested in figures will snap off a shot. Don't worry about the seam- the wall's doing it's job from what I can tell Thumbs Up [tup]
