her is a little project I'm working on for the Artillery GB. A 24 pounder naval gun from Palmer Plastics.
It looks like an easy build, although it has a brass plated barrel and other parts. I'm going to paint them with Krylon flat black.
The barrel trucks are supposed to be wood, but the kit did not have any wood grain, so I made some myself with an Xacto blade. I think it turned out pretty well.
Here are the trucks and barrel dry-fitted. It is much bigger that I thought.
The barrel obviously needed some filling work. I think it's going to look pretty cool when I'm done.
Next I scribbled the trucks as assembled stacked wood and painted with Testers acrylic "wood", and dry brush of Burnt Umber acrylic (starting to become my favorite color) and an oil wash of Brunt Umber oil. I think it turned out alright.
Next I need to do some work to the barrel.
