It is not a sad event that Hitler did not produce the Stg44.  Adolph Hitler was largely responsible for the untimely deaths of some 50 to 60 Million people.

Alzheimer's?  I thought he had Parkinson's.  Had he had Alzheimer's he'd just wander around Berlin in his bathrobe.

How about a model of a T-34 / 85 in Berlin, w/ the first six inches of the barrel firmly wedged up Hitlers bum...

The expression on Hitler's face, just a second or two before the gun was fired...it's funny and offensive to just about everybody. Clown [:o)]

Gentlemen, perhaps this discussion of Hitler has worn out it's usefulness? It's always a touchy subject, but now it seems to have gone off onto some unrelated and irrelevant tangent?

What's on your desks that you're working on? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Big Smile [:D] Dude, this thing went off the rails a long way back. bultenibo did an excellent build up... of Hitler. To be honest, I looked in here in the first place because I thought the author might be one of those closet Nazi sympathizers I sometimes run into at military model shows. I was relieved to see that was not the case, and I learned a little something as well.

Tangents aren't always bad...

Well said, Sir Doog. We can all agree:

1) Hitler was a bad guy.

2) Plenty of reliable witnesses to the death of Adolph and Eva. Kaput. Everything else is gravy.

3) Great modeling on the figure that started this thread.

4) Back to the models!

Best regards,

Well golly gee, thanks guys. It sure is nice when someone steps up and takes the role of Internet Police. I mean, if it wasn't for guys like you, people might just post anything they're thinking about. Can't have that!

I was talking to a gent the other day, and he expressed the opinion that the internet existed to foster the free and democratic exchange of ideas, even ideas that are unpopular or offensive. What a fool! Everyone knows that the internet exists to promote mindless "Me-Too"-ism! What could he be thinking?

I sure am glad someone is watching out for me around here! Lord knows, left to my own devices, I might post something other than "Great Work" or "Nice Job"! Then where would I be?

Thanks again guys, for being the arbiters of everyone's good taste. What would we ever do without you?

P.S. Have you put in your resumes to the Department of Homeland Security? I hear they're always looking for guys just like you.

(At least until Jan. 15, 2009...)

Cosmic J, PM sent. Hope you reconsider your post here. There are political blogs and other predictably-hostile places where you can find that type of poisonous banter if that's your thing. Here we talk about modelling.

I do not currently have any one thing on the bench. I as yet have no bench! More precisely it is legless in the garage. I have spent my time painting a 1:1 home and furnishing same. When it finally warms up here I'll begin organizing the "man cave". First on my to do list though is .........RIDE. I have the bike back from my buddy's garage, now that I have my own, and many miles of unexplored hghway in southern Nevada/California. Death Valley is first...................ominous isn't it?

Look Moe a navigator!

As this thread seems to have gone the ways of 'All things Hitler'... has anyone seen the film 'Downfall'? Its in subtitles and it charts the final days of his evilness and all his cronies. Its absolutely brilliant. Get it. you wont regret it.

Also, as for checking the authenticity of the bone fragments, didnt Hitler have a sister, who changed her name and lived 'still' in Germany to a right old age?

Oh and as for the figure. Its great, i love it. The hands are a litlle on the large side but still looks the biz.

Man, I love this site more and more each day. Big Smile [:D]

Alright, here's what I heard:

Hitler, Eva and a bunch of SS officers were holed up in a bunker in Berlin. They could hear the Ruskies coming and decided that suicide was the most passive-aggressive thing they could do, so they swallowed some cyanide pills, or shot themselves in the head, or both.

The SS officers present, also being passive-aggressive jerks, decided they didn't want the Russians to even have Adolf's body, so they took it out to the yard and tried to burn it. Unsuccessfully.

The Russians arrive, grab up everybody and start looting. One of the SS officers recounted how humiliated he was by bemoaning the fact that the Russian soldiers kept flushing the toilets over and over; apparently, none of them had ever seen a working flush toilet before...

Hitler made a lot of stupid decisions as der Fuhrer: using the Me262 as a bomber, attacking Russia, thinking he was smart enough to rule the world, etc.

Some say the reason he did so was because he was suffering from the debilitating effects of syphilis. In its late stages, the syphilis virus attacks the human brain, and can cause dementia, paranoia, poor judgment and loss of inhibition.

Because of inbreeding, syphilis was common to Europe's upper classes, which made a lot of them pretty loopy. It's possible that this disease has done more for the decline of the Monarchies and the promotion of Democracy than the invention of firearms.

Syphilis, like the potato and chocolate, is not native to the Old World. The first reported cases of this disease came soon after Columbus returned from his voyage to the Americas, in the mid 1490's. Looks like randy Christopher brought back more than just silver and slaves.

So...it appears that Christopher Columbus defeated the Nazis. How's that tweak your melon?

I can vouch for the veracity of none of what I just posted. I wouldn't even know where to begin to try to verify any of it. This is just what I heard, and I found it amusing. I hope you did too.
