great looking results.  With my own K'Tinga in progress right now I was wondering, what size drill bit did you use and (more importantly) can you tell me more about how you did the two tone paint job?

I don't have any pics of the wiring. It was ugly anyway so I was in a hurry to get past it. I just soldered 3 circuits of 3 leds together.

You plan on going to WF this year man?

Yes, I will most definitely be there.  Been set up with a roommate since the second week of January, I think it was.

A little more progress today. I drilled out the command bulb and installed the optical fiber. I also re drilled the upper rows of windows because I wasn't happy with the spacing and placement. Not much left now, only the diffuser for the radiator area and a stand.

Thanks Jeff. It's a PITA to try to fit those led's in such small spaces. You plan on going to WF this year man?

This is really looking fantastic, Bryan!  The JTG accurizing pieces really make the model look that much better.  Your lighting of the kit makes it pop out that much more, as well.

Big Smile [:D]

I need to dig my unfinish model out of the closet.

I made most of the mods to light it, just never got around to finishing it.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Cheers.

Eric...

Yes Eric, I have already placed a red led for the radiator looking thing on the front of the shuttlebay. Its going to be the last part to be placed though, it's the only access for the lighting right now. LOL

I have done a lot of work on the front command section. I replaced the plating that I sanded off and did some light tests.

Thanks gentlemen I appreciate the comments! I had forgotten to post these earlier pics of some work I had done on the command section forward "bulb" I had taped of the row of double windows, primed and sprayed it black. I also installed a red led in the torpedo tube, it will not be hooked up but will pick up ambient light from the white led I will place in the bulb. The model has since received the paint that you all have seen previously in my other posts. You can see in the photos the detail of the JT graphics parts.

Qaplaa Terry! I did some shading, picking out a few panels with russian armor green and desert khaki today.

Got some optical fiber in the mail today so I installed some in the front of the primary hull and under the shuttlebay. The model is held near a floor lamp as a light source. I left the fiber standing a little proud from the surface of the hull. cutting them flush will be one of the last things to do on the ship.

Did the lightblocking paint and layed down the basecoat over the preshading. I then sealed the basecoat with 2 coats of future. Washes and other paint effects will be one of the last things done. The green basecoat is a custom mix of model master acrylics: Gull grey, Russian armor green, and dunklegrun.
