I hope he doesn't do anything to the original trilogy. Why fix something that isn't broke? I liked the special editions that added new scenes and improved some of the effects, but a new trilogy would be too hard to watch. I still don't see how he can link Episode 3 to Episode 4.

I agree with you , I don't see how he expects the fans from the original movies to sit still while he totally changes everything from the way we know it ? I guess what he wants he gets .

Got it and replied.

Personally, the original trilogy is good as it was(minus the directors cuts, etc) those movies set a new milestone in Fantasy movies(don't see them as SF).

Redoing them is just trying to cash in on the name and reputation of the original trilogy, same thing they are doing with Ep 1,2 & 3.

Instead of reoding the 3 movies he should have changed the script and name and made a NEW movie series.

From what I understand and still this is from a fansite , is that Lucas is going to finish EP 3 then direct the redo's then hand over the next 3 to someone else with his hand in it for sure though . My thoughts is that EP 5,6,7 should've been done right after the originals while the actors were still younger and then he should've done EP 1,2,3 but then who am I to tell the Great one what to do ? by the way did you get my email ?

As long as he doesn't touch the Damn AT-AT's, I'll be all right with it!!! Those were the coolest things about Empire!!

Haven't heard about it, but it sounds like BAAAD news.
How about episodes 7, 8 & 9??

I still haven't forgiven him for switching from the original plan where Episodes 1,2 & 3 are supposed to play a few centuries prior to the original trilogy to show the Jedi in their prime.
7,8 & 9 were supposed to show what happened again some time after Luke & Leia.
Kinda like the Dune series showing how thinks developed over the ages.

In short the original plan called for 3 trilogies.

Still wondering how he will tie Episode 3 to Episode 4, too many loose ends and to short a timeframe to explain everything, but than that might be the reason why he wants to redo the original 3 movies.

Lucas to redo the original Star Wars Triology

I was just at a site where the author qutoed Lucas as saying " I will be redo-ing the original Triology after Episode 3 , the reason for this move is that I made a lot of mistakes that I would like to fix and instead of trying to do remasters and special edtions to fix the old ones , I think it's better to just start over while Episode 3 is still fresh in everyones mind " . Has anyone else heard about this ???
